We are seeking a Senior Designer, Architecture & Concepts to help evolve and scale Chewy Vet Care formats. This role is responsible for developing and refining concepts that are beautiful, functional, durable, and cost-effective, while ensuring they are easy to build and efficient to operate across a growing portfolio.
As a key individual contributor, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams including Construction, Capital & Program Delivery, Medical, Operations, and Safety, to deliver design solutions that meet business needs while maintaining a high bar for design quality and consistency.

The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00.

What You'll Do
- Evolve and refine Chewy Vet Care formats, translating business, operational, and pet parent needs into scalable design solutions
- Develop multiple design approaches to solve programmatic, operational, and cost constraints, with a bias for action and iteration
- Own the design and development of signage, millwork, lighting, finishes, and furniture, including prototype review and approval
- Create high-quality design outputs using Revit and Enscape to clearly communicate intent and support downstream development
- Ensure designs balance aesthetics, functionality, durability, constructability, and lifecycle cost efficiency
- Own and maintain Chewy Vet Care Design Modules, defining design standards across all practice environments
- Partner closely with Standards, Construction, and Capital & Program Delivery teams to ensure solutions are actionable, constructible, and aligned with budget and execution goals
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical, Operations, Safety, and external architectural and engineering partners to ensure designs support clinical workflows and meet ADA and jurisdictional requirements
- Conduct site, practice, and vendor visits to evaluate and iterate on design solutions
- Drive improvements in speed and efficiency across test fits, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and documentation workflows
- Support the maintenance and evolution of Chewy Vet Care BIM templates, Revit families, libraries, and documentation resources
- Maintain drawing standards, including sheet setups, annotations, view templates, and quality control of drawing sets
- Execute updates to standards, templates, and documentation systems as design concepts and business requirements evolve
What You'll Need
- 7+ years of experience in architecture, interior design, or concept design
- Proven experience working on the brand/owner side of retail development
- Demonstrated success in multi-unit rollout with a focus on scalable design systems
- Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Procore, and Smartsheet
- Ability to develop high-level concepts and translate them into clear, executable design outputs
- Strong understanding of architectural and interior design processes, from concept through construction
- Ability to balance design quality, operational needs, and cost considerations
- Strong ability to present design concepts, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders & leadership
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ambiguity
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field
- Veterinary or healthcare experience is a plus
The base salary range for this role is $129,500 - $207,000.00.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
