This role blends program leadership with stakeholder and governance management. You will partner closely with Finance, Technology, Data & Analytics, and Business teams to drive programs from strategy to execution — ensuring the right work is prioritized, dependencies are managed, and outcomes are delivered at pace and scale.

A day in the life:

  • Lead a small team or program managers and data analysts, setting clear expectations, developing talent, and maintaining a high-performance culture focused on delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder groups across the enterprise, creating alignment and prioritization, raising issues requiring decisions or input, mitigating risks, and resolving conflicts.
  • Partner with the a team of data analysts and technical teams to connect analytical and AI solution development to program delivery, ensuring work moves from concept to production on time and with appropriate governance.
  • Develop and own communications and materials across audience levels, including executive sponsors and senior leadership, with clarity on status, risks, and decisions needed.
  • Establish and maintain operating cadences, governance standards, and program frameworks that keep the portfolio on track and teams aligned.
  • Proactively identify roadblocks and propose solutions that contribute to organizational success, escalating to senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Manage complex, interdependent workstreams with an eye toward sequencing, value creation, and enterprise-wide impact.
  • Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working with senior leadership on sensitive business and organizational issues, effectively managing ambiguity and proposing workable solutions to challenging problems.
  • Supplement other roles and responsibilities to deliver the program’s initiatives, as needed.

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, business operations, strategy, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience leading or managing large, complex programs and cross-functional teams.
  • 7+ years of experience working with and influencing senior-level executives.
  • Proven ability to build and manage program roadmaps, operating cadences, and governance frameworks in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Strong understanding of data, analytics, and AI concepts, enough to credibly partner with technical teams and translate between business and delivery.
  • Experience working across finance, technology, and analytics stakeholders, with the ability to drive alignment across competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, with experience developing and managing a small team.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor messages for executive and working-team audiences alike.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including executive-level presentation development.
  • Experience with finance or accounting processes is a plus.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
