Your role at Dynatrace

Role Overview

As an Observability Strategist, you will serve as a trusted executive advisor and technical authority for enterprise organizations undergoing digital transformation. You will bridge the gap between deep technical infrastructure—metrics, logs, traces, and OpenTelemetry—and high-level business outcomes.

In this role, you will partner directly with C-suite executives, VP-level engineering leaders, and SRE/DevOps teams to define, execute, and scale modern observability practices. You won't just recommend tools; you will transform how enterprises measure system reliability, operational efficiency, and customer experience using the Dynatrace Software Intelligence Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Thought Leadership

  • Drive Business Alignment: Translate complex telemetry data into actionable business insights, helping customers connect application performance directly to revenue, user retention, and operational efficiency.
  • Maturity Assessments: Evaluate existing enterprise monitoring/observability maturity and build multi-year transformation roadmaps toward automated, AI-driven operations.
  • C-Suite Engagement: Deliver executive briefings, business reviews, and strategic workshops to CIOs, CTOs, and VP of Infrastructure/Engineering stakeholders.

Architecture & Technical Mastery

  • Architect Observability Strategy: Guide enterprise adoption of full-stack observability across hybrid, multi-cloud, and microservice environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes).
  • Open Standards & Dynatrace Ecosystem: Standardize data ingestion practices utilizing OpenTelemetry alongside native Dynatrace capabilities (Grail™, Davis® AI, OneAgent®).
  • SRE & Automation Practices: Help enterprise teams establish meaningful Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and automated remediation workflows.

Enablement & Practice Building

  • Center of Excellence (CoE): Assist enterprise clients in building internal Observability Centers of Excellence to democratize data across development, security, and operations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner internally with Dynatrace Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to feed real-world client insights back into product strategy.
What will help you succeed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 8+ years in technical consulting, solution architecture, software engineering, or enterprise IT advisory.
  • 3+ years directly focused on observability, APM, AIOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices at enterprise scale.

Technical Skills

  • Deep Observability Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of metrics, logs, traces, profiles, and events (MELT), with a focus on open standards like OpenTelemetry.
  • Cloud-Native Architecture: Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes, serverless architecture, Docker, and multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Dynatrace Platform Knowledge: Strong proficiency with the Dynatrace ecosystem (Grail™, Davis® AI, Smartscape®, Workflows, AppEngine) or comparable enterprise platforms.
  • Automation & DevOps: Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and modern release management strategies.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong executive presentation skills with a proven track record of influencing senior leadership.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical business stakeholders clearly.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving mindset with a passion for driving measurable customer outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Official Dynatrace Certifications (Dynatrace Certified Professional or Master).
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or major Cloud Provider certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Background in FinOps or Business Service Management (BSM).
