The Role: Senior Solutions Architect

We are looking to add a highly skilled Network focused Senior Solutions Architect to our team in the New York metropolitan area.  As a member of the Pre-Sales Engineering Team, you will be responsible for meeting with Presidio’s customers, collecting requirements for business solutions related to network and security projects, and developing engineering solutions for sale to Presidio customers.

A successful Networking Senior Solutions Architect (SA) should be able to develop, present, and explain various network infrastructure technologies (LAN/WAN, Data Center Switching, Security & Wireless) to customers, guide them through requirements gathering, and formulate a solution consisting of hardware, software, licensing, and engineering services.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of enterprise-class networking, security, and infrastructure solutions from leading technology partners, including Cisco, Arista, F5, Palo Alto Networks, VMware, and other industry manufacturers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a solid understanding of network design principles, architectural best practices, and standards-based approaches to developing scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop high-level, end-to-end technical solutions encompassing hardware, software, licensing, and professional services.
  • Gather, analyze, and document customer business and technical requirements.
  • Design comprehensive, full-lifecycle network and security solutions from initial concept through implementation and ongoing support.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and facilitate whiteboard discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop compelling, customer-facing presentations, proposals, and solution documentation.
  • Deliver technical presentations, architecture reviews, and product demonstrations.
  • Develop accurate hardware configurations and bills of materials (BoMs).
  • Create statements of work (SoWs) and develop professional services pricing using Presidio tools and processes.
  • Independently prioritize workload, establish direction, and execute effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Partner with Account Executives and extended sales teams to develop customer relationships, identify opportunities, and support the overall sales process.
  • Continuously maintain and expand technical expertise, industry knowledge, and relevant professional certifications.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, equivalent professional experience and/or relevant military experience.
  • 7+ years of experience demonstrating substantial expertise in enterprise networking and security solutions.
  • One or more relevant industry certifications, such as Cisco CCDP, CCNP, or CCIE. Equivalent certifications from other leading technology vendors are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical and design expertise through the deployment, administration, configuration, integration, or support of complex technology solutions.
  • Experience working in a value-added reseller (VAR), consulting, systems integration, or professional services environment is preferred but not required. 
  • Proven experience working directly with customers and sales teams to translate business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
  •  Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Technical Expertise

Expert-level knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred:

  • Complex routing and switching solutions, including Cisco, Arista, and HPE.
  • Next-generation firewalls, VPNs, and network security platforms, including Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, and Fortinet.
  • AI-driven network operations and automation.
  • Full-stack observability and application performance monitoring.
  • Data center networking, switching, and segmentation technologies, including Cisco ACI and VMware NSX.
  • SASE, SD-WAN, and cloud-based networking technologies.
  • Enterprise wireless and 802.11 technologies.
  • Network security architecture and next-generation firewall solutions.
A successful Senior Solutions Architect serves as a trusted technical advisor, combining strong consultative skills, demonstrated technical depth, and sound architectural judgment. The ideal candidate can translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience as a consultant, network architect, systems engineer, or technical presales professional is highly desirable.Networking Experience
