Our Opportunity
The Chewy Transportation Planning and Network Performance team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst II to use a wide set of technical and analytical skills to advance our data analytics and reporting initiatives supporting our routing strategy and delivery performance. The successful candidate will drive foundational metrics and reporting used by leadership at all levels. This role partners with our fulfillment operations, delivery experience, procurement, finance, and external carrier teams to build high-quality, impactful data products. Responsibilities include building data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, analyzing large datasets, investigating anomalies, developing intuitive visualizations, delivering actionable insights, communicating results, mentoring team members, solving complex business problems, and automating manual data processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform deep-dive investigations into data questions and present findings that drive operational improvements.

  • Develop operational metrics and build robust data products using BI tools and other analytics software.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement analytical methods and generate actionable business insights.

  • Monitor and maintain data pipelines while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Reconcile data issues across multiple systems and identify process improvement opportunities.

  • Develop dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and other visualization tools.

  • Support quality control and testing initiatives for analytics deliverables.

  • Apply statistical techniques to interpret data and present findings to business partners.

  • Design and implement analytics solutions for complex business challenges.

  • Gather, define, and document business requirements for data products.

  • Use Git, Jira, and Confluence to manage source code and project progress.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of full-time experience in an analyst role, preferably within e-commerce or retail.

  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in data modeling and performance tuning.

  • Experience with ETL processes and BI tools

  • Experience monitoring data pipelines and resolving data quality issues.

  • Strong Tableau or equivalent data visualization experience.

  • Experience applying statistical techniques including hypothesis testing, correlation, classification, regression, and time series forecasting.

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks in R or Python is a plus.

  • Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Passion for using data to drive innovation in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

The base salary range for this role is $87,000 - $130,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

Exempt salary team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
