Who Are We Looking to Add to Our Team?
We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will own two critical functions, billing operations and accounts payable, and support the month end close process.
The ideal candidate embraces AI tools in their day-to-day work and thrives in a high-growth environment, as you'll be joining a finance team that actively uses AI across our operations and financial systems at a fast-growing legal AI startup.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end billing operations. Send invoices, manage auto-charge runs, and ensure accuracy and timeliness across our growing customer base.
- Manage our AI-native billing platform. Configure new customer subscriptions from signed contracts, maintain account accuracy, and serve as the internal subject matter expert on the platform.
- Own the collections process. Monitor and report on outstanding balances and aging trends, execute a defined outreach cadence, and communicate directly with customers via email and phone to resolve outstanding balances and billing inquiries.
- Oversee the accounts payable function, including vendor onboarding, bill processing, corporate card transaction review, and payment approvals, while maintaining compliance with company policies.
- Review and process employee expense reports to ensure adherence to policy and timely reimbursements.
- Prepare journal entries and reconcile key balance sheet accounts to facilitate the month close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Participate in ad-hoc financial projects as needed to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience spanning both billing operations and general accounting
- SaaS, technology, or start-up experience strongly preferred
- Highly organized detail-oriented self-started with the ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine interest in using AI tools in day-to-day work

Compensation
As an early-stage startup, we offer a competitive compensation package that includes base salary, meaningful equity, and benefits. Equity grants are designed to ensure employees share in the long-term success and upside of the company.
Base Salary: $93,000 - 98,500 annually
This range reflects compensation across multiple levels within this role. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location.
