Job Description:

We’re looking for a Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of Pluralsight’s platform and enterprise experiences. In this role, you’ll operate at a strategic altitude while staying close to execution — partnering across teams to tackle complex problems that span domains, products, and customer needs.

You’ll bring clarity where there is uncertainty, help unify how we articulate value across the platform, and support teams as they navigate evolving priorities. This role is designed for a designer who can drive impact within specific initiatives while consistently connecting work to the broader system and long-term platform vision.

Who you’re committed to being

  • You have experience working in highly complex, technical problem spaces, and are comfortable navigating systems, constraints, and tradeoffs.

  • You translate complexity into clear stories, frameworks, and decisions that help teams and stakeholders move forward with confidence.

  • You elevate people around you — mentoring designers, building strong cross-functional relationships, and influencing toward shared outcomes that benefit customers and the business.

  • You take strong ownership in ambiguous spaces, independently framing problem areas, determining where focus is needed, and driving work forward with accountability, clarity, and strategic intent..

What you’ll do:

As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll play a key role in helping Pluralsight tackle complex, high-impact problems across the platform. You’ll shape direction, build clarity from evolving inputs, and translate customer insights into thoughtful, actionable paths forward.

You’ll balance periods of deep focus within specific initiatives with moments of broader exploration across the platform. At times, you may embed closely with a team to help define direction and drive execution; at other times, you’ll step back to focus on generative research and ongoing customer learning to inform future strategy.

Whether driving work directly or enabling others to carry it forward, you’ll help teams connect insights to action, ensure efforts ladder up to meaningful customer and business outcomes, and clearly articulate how individual initiatives contribute to Pluralsight’s broader platform vision and mission.

You will:

  • Shape and execute design strategy for complex initiatives, helping teams frame problems, explore opportunities, and make thoughtful tradeoffs.

  • Lead discovery, synthesis, and validation — including generative and exploratory research — to build a deep understanding of customer needs, behaviors, and emerging opportunities.

  • Apply systems thinking and information architecture to define structures, relationships, and flows, using appropriate conceptual artifacts to create shared understanding.

  • Translate strategy and structure into clear, high-quality interaction and UI designs that are intuitive, accessible, and scalable.

  • Act as a strong, diplomatic, and trusted partner across functions, integrating customer insights, operational context, and business needs into design decisions.

  • Mentor and uplift designers across the Platform & Enterprise pillar, contributing to strong craft, strategic thinking, and shared practices.

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Experience designing complex, system-driven products, with the ability to reason about relationships, workflows, and hierarchies across domains; familiarity with information architecture, OOUX, or similar frameworks is a plus.

  • A strong foundation in interaction and UI design, with the ability to translate abstract concepts into intuitive, accessible, and scalable interfaces.

  • Comfort operating in technical or data-informed environments, collaborating closely with engineering, data, and research partners.

  • Demonstrated experience leading discovery and research efforts — including generative or exploratory research — and turning insights into clear direction and action.

  • Experience guiding and mentoring other designers, helping elevate craft, systems thinking, and strategic decision-making.

  • This is a remote role; however, applicants located within 45 miles of our Westlake/Dallas, TX office should expect to work on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. This approach enables more effective collaboration, quicker decision-making, and a stronger culture, while still providing flexibility.

Why you’ll love working here:

  • We’re a blended workplace, where team members work remotely or in a hybrid setup depending on their role and location

  • We’re mission driven and guided by our culture pillars

  • We have a strong commitment to diversity and belonging

  • We cultivate a culture of trust, autonomy, and collaboration

  • We’re lifelong learners and champion team member growth and advancement

  • We’ve got you covered - team member benefits include competitive compensation packages, medical coverage, unlimited PTO, wellness reimbursements, Pluralsight subscription, professional development funds and more.
