Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct theoretical and applied research in applied mathematics.
Develop, write, and contribute to grant proposals to secure external and internal research funding.
Initiate and maintain collaborative research projects with internal and external investigators.
Supervise and mentor postdoctoral researchers and students involved in related research activities.
Develop course syllabi and related instructional materials in applied mathematics.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the research and academic mission of the institution.
Working Conditions:
Primarily works in a standard office and/or research computing environment with typical physical demands (prolonged periods of sitting, keyboard and computer use, reading, and screen time).
Occasional evening or weekend hours to meet deadlines, support grant submissions, or attend events.
Occasional travel to conferences, collaborator sites, or professional meetings to present research and develop collaborations.
No unusual physical demands; minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
Education:
Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

Advanced knowledge of applied mathematics and proficiency with relevant computational tools and programming languages to design, analyze, and implement mathematical models.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical material clearly and to prepare high‑quality publications and grant proposals.
