This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of hardworking team of talented specialists and engineers, you will develop and execute supplier quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Supplier Quality Management processes.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight from Blue Origin’s Kent, WA location. Passion for our mission and vision is absolutely required.  If you have direct experience with Supplier Quality organizations, either as a customer or supplier, and a thorough understanding of supply base quality related topics, let us know!

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers regarding quality and technical capability.
  • Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
  • Drive quality improvement and nonconformance reduction activities at the supplier.
  • Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives.
  • Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
  • Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
  • 5-8+ years’ industry experience in a manufacturing field with at least 3 years in a supplier quality role.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver’s license
  • Quality assurance experience in an aerospace production environment
  • Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficiencies to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely
Desired:
  • Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, machined parts (including bellows and flex hoses), valves and fluid controls, composites, assembly practices, castings and forgings, tooling, or chemical processing.
  • Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development through production to operations
  • AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt or comparable certification

 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $76,455.00-$107,035.95

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
