Job Description

The Data Centers Storage Administrator is responsible for managing Expeditors essential storage and backup infrastructure. This infrastructure provides Expeditors the global connectivity, compute power, backups and storage to meet its growing demand to move freight. The Storage Administrator is responsible for the support, troubleshooting, installation, and deployment of Storage and Backups based systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a collaborative member of a highly motivated and agile team.
  • Install, configure and manage all block (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) (Dell PowerStore, Cohesity, Pure Storage Arrays, Hitachi Storage Arrays).
  • Provides production support for arrays and fiber channel switches.
  • Diagnose and isolate array, fiber channel switching, and application-related problems.
  • Perform hardware maintenance, repairs, & replacements.
  • Ensure backup infrastructure is online and available.
  • Function as a subject matter expert for Storage and Backup related questions for other groups within Expeditors.
  • Provide recommendations to management through research and review of recent industry solutions in various Storage related technologies.
  • Create documentation and training material; provide training to others.

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • 2+ years of experience with storage management technologies (NAS, SAN & FC Switches).
  • Knowledge of backup strategies and products.
  • An aptitude for methodical and comprehensive troubleshooting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Hitachi and Pure Storage.
  • Experience with Dell PowerStore.
  • Experience with Brocade Storage Area Networks (SAN).
  • Experience with Cohesity backup solutions.
  • Experience with agile (SAFe) project planning.
  • Experience managing a multi-vendor environment.
  • Scripting in at least one language such as Python, Perl, PowerShell, ruby, bash, Go.
  • Practiced in designing and implementing business continuity / disaster recovery and high availability plans.  For example, experience with snapshots and replication with storage technology.

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $80,000 to $150,000
