Job Summary & Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of combined experience and training.
  • 5+ years of IT experience with 1-2 years of hands on experience working with the technologies listed above.
  • DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent).
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and/or VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • Ability to maintain a minimum Secret U.S. government security clearance. TS/SCI Preferred.

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $190,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What is the Government Services Team and why join? 

Our Government Services team provides cleared resources with a global reach to federal civilian, Department of Defense (DoD), and intelligence community markets. What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking a DEVOPS Engineer who will serve on a team of technical engineers in support of multiple government programs. Candidates will be the architect of our CI/CD pipelines, the guardian of our cloud environments, and the bridge between our Software Engineering and IT Operations teams. Your mission is to ensure our software is delivered quickly, reliably, and securely. The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Navy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Automation & Orchestration: Design, develop, and maintain complex Ansible playbooks and roles to automate software deployment, configuration management, and system patching across multi-site environments.
  • Version Control & CI/CD: Manage all infrastructure code via Git, implementing best practices for branching, merging, and documentation to ensure a "Single Source of Truth" for system configurations.
  • Linux Administration: Provide expert-level support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting complex kernel or networking issues.
  • Virtualization Management: Maintain and optimize our VMware vSphere environment, managing clusters, storage integration, and virtual networking to ensure high availability.
  • Identity & Access Management: Administer Active Directory (AD) services, including Group Policy (GPO) management, DNS, and integration with Linux systems for centralized authentication (SSSD/IDM).
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the current infrastructure and propose automated solutions to reduce "toil" and improve deployment speed.
