The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 (Early career) to focus on system architecting, requirements, and verification primarily for the P-8 program. This position reports to the P-8 Systems Engineering group and will be 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA.
The P-8 is a high-visibility, advanced commercial derivative military aircraft program supporting the U.S. Navy and international customers. As a Systems Engineer 2, you will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. You will evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
Position Responsibilities:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Secret clearance is required.

Position Responsibilities:
- Assess configuration changes to determine impacts to existing requirements.
- Manage the Performance Based System Specification (PBSS) when new or updated requirements arise due to configuration changes to the P-8 baseline.
- Decompose top-level requirements down to subsystem specifications.
- Create verification matrices to map how new requirements should be verified and identify existing requirements needing re-verification due to configuration changes.
- Plan and perform requirements verification activities and document results.
- Support formal Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR) and System Verification Reviews (SVR).
- Understand and update Interface Control Documents (ICDs) at configuration change points.
- Understand and update interconnect block diagrams and box-level interfaces.
- Collaborate with design teams and the Navy customer.
- Assist the interfaces team as surge support or backup when necessary.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. A Secret clearance is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working on aircraft systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently with minimal oversight.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience on the P-8 or similar commercial-derivative military aircraft system is helpful but not required.
- Familiarity with DOORs or Microsoft Visio is beneficial.
