Why This Role Exists

The Talent Acquisition Manager owns how we attract, assess, and hire talent across Profound. As Profound Research grows, our ability to consistently attract and hire exceptional people will be critical to building strong teams and delivering on our mission. This is a hands-on builder role for someone who is as comfortable recruiting great people as they are improving the systems and practices behind the work.

You will partner closely with leaders by understanding what their teams need, bringing perspective on the talent market, and helping them make thoughtful hiring decisions. At the same time, you will continue building a talent acquisition function that can grow with the organization, creating the right amount of structure, developing stronger talent pipelines, and finding better ways to work as our needs evolve.

This role is a strong fit for someone who sees talent acquisition as more than filling open positions. You are curious about what makes an organization successful, willing to challenge an approach that is not working, and energized by the opportunity to build while you execute.

What You’ll Do

Build a Scalable Talent Acquisition Function

  • Own and continuously improve Profound’s talent acquisition approach, creating practical systems and processes that support quality, consistency, and growth without unnecessary complexity

  • Anticipate how recruiting needs will evolve as the organization grows and build the infrastructure, tools, and practices needed to support that growth

  • Evaluate and improve how we use recruiting technology, external partners, sourcing support, and other resources to create an effective and flexible TA model

Recruit Exceptional Talent

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting across the organization, adapting sourcing and recruiting strategies based on the role, talent market, and business need

  • Build strong talent pipelines for recurring, difficult-to-fill, and strategically important roles while remaining hands-on in sourcing, assessment, and candidate engagement

  • Deliver a thoughtful candidate experience that reflects Profound’s culture, values, and expectations while maintaining appropriate urgency and a high bar for talent

Partner With Leaders to Make Better Hiring Decisions

  • Serve as a trusted talent advisor to hiring managers, helping them define what success requires and translate business needs into effective recruiting strategies

  • Bring external market perspective, challenge assumptions when needed, and help leaders make thoughtful decisions about candidate profiles, assessment, and selection

  • Strengthen hiring capability across Profound by creating clear expectations and giving managers the coaching, tools, and support they need to hire well

Use Talent Insights to Drive Better Outcomes

  • Maintain a clear view of current and anticipated hiring demand, recruiting capacity, and talent-market conditions so risks and constraints can be addressed early

  • Use meaningful recruiting data and patterns to understand what is working, diagnose challenges, and recommend changes that improve hiring outcomes

  • Make thoughtful recommendations about where internal resources, sourcing support, agencies, or other flexible capacity will create the greatest value

What You Bring

    Essential Qualifications

    • 6+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, with strong full-cycle recruiting capabilities across sourcing, candidate assessment, hiring manager partnership, and closing candidates across a variety of roles

    • Experience helping build, improve, or scale talent acquisition practices in a growing organization, rather than only operating within established recruiting systems

    • Strong business judgment and the ability to translate a leader’s hiring need into a thoughtful recruiting strategy, including the confidence to challenge assumptions and recommend a different approach when needed

    • A builder mindset with the ability to identify what is not working, develop practical solutions, and create enough structure to help the organization scale without adding unnecessary complexity

    • Comfort operating in a fast-changing environment, shifting priorities when needed while maintaining ownership, follow through, and a high standard for the work

    • Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to earn trust with candidates and leaders while being clear, candid, and solutions oriented

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience recruiting in a multi-site, geographically distributed, or operationally complex organization

    • Experience supporting an organization through meaningful growth or another significant scaling period

    • Experience in clinical research, healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, or another regulated industry

    • Experience using recruiting data, technology, talent pipelines, and flexible recruiting resources to improve how a talent acquisition function operates

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • This role is primarily performed in a remote/office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk, working on a computer, and participating in virtual meetings
  • Requires the ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written forms and to read and interpret detailed materials
  • Minimal travel to company sites, meetings, or partner locations may be required, including the ability to navigate office/clinical environments and transport typical work materials
  • Must be able to maintain a productive and professional remote work setup with reliable internet connectivity
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role
Why Join Profound Research?
  • Meaningful Impact: Every role at Profound contributes to advancing medical knowledge and expanding therapeutic options for patients – the work we do here matters
  • Professional Growth: We invest in our people through comprehensive training, certification support, and ongoing education to help you grow in your role and your career
  • Leadership & Advancement: Profound is a place where initiative is recognized. We actively support internal growth and create pathways for people to take on greater responsibility over time
  • Collaborative Culture: You’ll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about clinical research and committed to doing it well

  • Broad Organizational Exposure: Gain visibility across the full lifecycle of clinical research – from study startup through closeout – working cross-functionally with clinical, finance, and operations teams
  • Flexible Work Environment: This role offers the autonomy of a remote or hybrid work setting while keeping you connected to a team that’s deeply collaborative and mission-driven
