Gannett Wealth is seeking a skilled CPA Tax Advisor to join our team. In this role, you'll provide tax preparation, planning, and advisory services for individuals and businesses with bitcoin and digital asset holdings. Working alongside our financial advisors and estate planners, you'll help clients navigate the complexities of bitcoin taxation while delivering thoughtful, proactive guidance in an evolving regulatory landscape.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses with cryptocurrency holdings, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and guidelines.
- Develop expertise in tracking and reporting cryptocurrency transactions, including calculations for cost basis, capital gains/losses, and income from mining, staking, or airdrops.
- Provide tax planning strategies to optimize clients' portfolios, minimizing tax liabilities through legal and ethical means.
- Collaborate with our team of financial advisors, estate planners, and investment managers to deliver a holistic suite of services for our bitcoin-focused clientele.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to cryptocurrency and digital assets.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by authoring articles, conducting webinars, and participating in industry events related to taxation.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have an active Certified Public Accountant or Enrolled Agent designation.
- You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- You have 5+ years of experience in tax preparation and advisory services.
- You have a comprehensive understanding of federal and state tax laws, specializing in cryptocurrency taxation.
- You are proficient in utilizing tax preparation software and familiarity with wallets and exchanges.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- You are an excellent communicator who can explain complex tax concepts clearly and concisely, while proactively keeping clients informed, setting expectations, and following through.
- You have a deep understanding and passion for bitcoin
- You have the ability to manage details and juggle multiple priorities.
- You have experience building scalable processes and enjoy the challenge of rolling up your sleeves, creating structure, and building systems that can grow with the business. You’re forward-thinking, exercise strong judgment, and confidently take initiative.
