At GoDaddy, we are seeking an exceptional, strategic and technically savvy Product Manager to lead our Certificate Authority (CA) platform!  Reporting into GoDaddy's Vice President Engineering Partners, you will lead efforts to align our CA with industry standards, represent us in organizations like the CAB Forum, and guide our security, trust, and innovation plans. You will also explore and prototype critical next-generation cryptographic solutions, including post-quantum readiness and automated certificate lifecycle management!

What you'll get to do...

  • Represent the CA in industry forums (e.g., CA/Browser Forum) and advocate for standards and requirements to further PKI and security on behalf of company and our customers
  • Track and interpret regulatory and CAB Forum developments; ensure alignment of internal policies and product direction with compliance requirements
  • Translate CAB Forum requirements into internal roadmap items and engineering stories
  • Perform continuous gap assessments on the existing CA infrastructure to pinpoint risks, legacy dependencies, or deviations from compliance and operational standard methodologies
  • Collaborate with security, engineering, and audit teams to define and implement remediation plans that elevate the health and resilience of the CA system
  • Ensure regular internal reviews and assessments are built into the roadmap to maintain a strong system-of-record and audit trail
  • Define critical metrics and health indicators that indicate system compliance, availability, and readiness for upcoming regulatory changes
  • Own the product roadmap for CA capabilities, focusing on compliance, reliability, automation, and innovation
  • Collaborate with engineering, security, legal, and operations to plan and deliver enhancements to our certificate platform
  • Prioritize product features based on risk, market evolution, customer needs, and compliance deadlines
  • Explore and assess next-generation cryptography (e.g., PQC, hybrid algorithms)
  • Lead prototyping efforts and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) for new cryptographic solutions and emerging standards
  • Partner with internal security and cryptography experts to assess technical feasibility and integration strategies
  • Act as a subject matter expert on CA product capabilities for customers, partners, auditors, and internal teams
  • Communicate complex technical and regulatory topics to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Prioritize and support strategic customer discussions related to certificate lifecycle, automation, and compliance
  • Strong project management and outstanding cross-functional leadership skills

Your experience should include...

  • Extensive experience of 5+ years in PKI / applied cryptography or product management, preferably in PKI, security, or environments dedicated to compliance
  • Proficient in digital certificates, applied cryptography, public key infrastructure (PKI), and certificate lifecycle management
  • Familiarity with CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements and industry governance models
  • Experience working with or in a Certificate Authority, or a security-focused product team
  • Ability to translate regulatory language into technical and product requirements

You might also have...

  • Exposure to post-quantum cryptography or modern cryptographic research
  • Experience with security audits and compliance processes (e.g., WebTrust, ETSI)
  • Technical background (e.g., CS, IT Security, or Engineering degree)
  • Familiarity with ACME, CT logs, OCSP, and certificate automation tools

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
