You will own the platform layer horizontally across all modules, with direct responsibility for: Data platform (models, pipelines, performance), UI platform (frameworks, shared components, state management), Core services and APIs.
You’ll work closely with module technical product managers and engineering teams, ensuring the platform is both highly usable and technically robust, while remaining directly involved in implementation.Job Description
Responsibilities:
Design and implement core platform services, libraries, and frameworks used across all modules.
Own critical code paths (data pipelines, API layers, shared services, UI frameworks).
Set and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and architectural principles through direct contribution and review.
Architect and enable implementation of data models and schemas for large-scale grid planning datasets.
Drive performance tuning (query optimization, caching strategies, memory usage).
Establish data contracts and versioning strategies across modules.
Drive implementation of reusable UI frameworks, component libraries, and design systems.
Own frontend architecture decisions (state management, data fetching, performance). Ensure tight integration between UI and backend APIs.
Implement shared components used across modules (visualizations, dashboards, workflows).
Design and evolve a modular, service-oriented architecture supporting multiple product domains. Define API standards (REST/gRPC), service contracts, and integration patterns.
Build and maintain shared platform services such as: Authentication/authorization layers, Job orchestration and scheduling, Simulation execution frameworks
Conduct deep technical design reviews and code reviews. Unblock teams by contributing code or solving complex technical issues.
Drive adoption of platform components through developer experience improvements.
Own system performance and scalability end-to-end. Implement observability: logging, metrics, tracing. Drive CI/CD practices, automated testing, and release pipelines.
Work with the team to develop real-world test cases to prove the capabilities of the tools as they are built
Work with Internal and External PlanOS users to identify desired features and capabilities
Lead portions of the software development, providing detailed specifications while demonstrating and teaching best practices to other members of the team
Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
8+ years of professional relevant experience
Preferred:
Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C# or similar. Familiarity with software engineering best practices (version control, testing, code reviews).
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices (testing, version control, CI/CD).
Ability to work with large datasets and complex model in

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $124,700.00 and $207,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
