Fresh Consulting is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) who believes that a problem isn't truly solved until it's solved for all. As a Technical Project Manager at Fresh Consulting, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary hardware and software engineering projects utilizing your engineering expertise. You will collaborate with external clients to understand the problem/opportunity space, define requirements, and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate is equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the framing, scoping, and support of technical Projects and Programs that may consist of a variety of innovative hardware, AI, robotics, and software project(s)/program(s).
  • Provide and maintain a capacity planning and resource tracking service across our suite of Programs. Oversee project costs, and ensure project and program finances are well managed.
  • Define and embed project controls and governance in every technical project and program.
  • Provide Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, and Resource forecasting.
  • Proven track record of planning, executing, controlling, and closing technical projects and programs with the ability to manage a program of projects and their dependencies simultaneously.
  • Ensure the projects within a program are successfully executed on time, on budget, and in scope while achieving quality by actively managing scope, schedule, resources, and risks.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Understand, and translate external stakeholders' needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Ensures that all non-functional requirements (such as reliability, scalability, and security) are documented, incorporated into plans, tracked, and executed appropriately.
  • Partners with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Is perceived as a credible, strong leader, able to influence and educate at all levels of the organization to achieve strategy-aligned outcomes.
  • Sets expectations with external and internal stakeholders, team members, and leaders.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure end-to-end solutions are aligned with enterprise strategy, architectural standards, and practices.
  • Coordinates requirements and deliverables across multiple teams, helping to resolve conflicts, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs and ensuring teams understand broad, architecture and enterprise-level priorities and how that affects sequencing.
  • Communicates frequently and capably with a diverse audience, tailoring channel and message depending on needs and desired outcomes. Is influential and can drive change.
  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured business and technical problems and situations.
  • Contribute to an environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.
  • To build trust, initiate and lead candid conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Provide high-touch and hands-on team guidance, support, and coaching in close cooperation and collaboration across all roles and functions to facilitate increasing velocity at a sustainable pace.
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and coach high-performing engineering teams.
  • Understand and speak of other processes and methodologies and leverage those other techniques to provide value to a team and our clients. Meeting people where they are.
  • Oversees and reviews requirements, business process models, specifications, configuration changes, and recommendations related to proposed technical solutions.
  • Define and implement standardized non-technical processes, models, and techniques for the project teams, generating consistency and scaling our customer-focused success team capabilities.
  • Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all projects in your portfolio.
  • Manage changes to the program scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate multi-disciplinary project/program management methods and methodologies.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or System Engineering, PM degree or related field.
  • 5+ years of software or hardware industry experience, including systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project/Program Manager (TPM)
  • Prior electrical or mechanical engineering experience is a plus!
  • Product development lifecycle (PLM) experience
  • Experience communicating and representing work to senior leadership and framing discussions to gain valuable feedback and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with medium and large-scale systems.
  • Experience establishing and leading teams through multi-disciplinary relationships, including product management and engineering to drive product impact.
  • Experience successfully running high-visibility cross-team projects
  • Strong experience driving the full product lifecycle, including defining and hitting success metrics, in a startup-like atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with diverse teams.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is 120K - 140K. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
