Bear is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to join our team. ResponsibilitiesThe type of work varies by client, but often includes:
- Managing multiple concurrent ecommerce client projects with varying scopes, timelines, and budgets.
- Drive successful project delivery by ensuring high client satisfaction while maintaining project scope, timelines, and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that support retention and long-term partnership growth.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams for strategic, design, and technical discussions, as well as task handoff, scheduling, and budget management.
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear development tasks and sprint priorities.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews.
- Manage project workflows, timelines, and task tracking within Jira while coordinating team resourcing through Parallax.
- Maintain project financial health through scope tracking, budget awareness, and change order coordination.
- Prepare and maintain key project documentation including agendas, milestone plans, release plans, and weekly status reports.
- Facilitate client, design, and internal development meetings to keep projects aligned and moving forward.
- Coordinate QA processes and assist testing prior to client UAT.
- Collaborate with the PMO team through Bear’s PODS structure, ensuring cross-team coordination and knowledge sharing.
- Report directly to the Director of Project Management and contribute to internal process documentation and operational improvements.
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager at a Shopify agency, Magento experience is a plus.
- Excitement to learn, grow, and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong understanding of modern web development workflows and the ability to communicate confidently with engineers about technical requirements, estimates and implementation trade-offs.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira (task management), Harvest (time tracking and budget reporting), Smartsheet (project planning), and Parallax (team resourcing).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for a remote work environment.
- Confidence and leadership skills to act as the primary client contact with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to set realistic timelines, anticipate risks, coordinate cross-functional teams, and estimate resource needs.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, designers, developers, and internal stakeholders.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced agency environment with multiple active clients.
- Are comfortable balancing client expectations, developer workflows, and project budgets.
- Take a proactive approach to growing client partnerships, identifying opportunities for additional work that supports the client’s goals and long-term success.
- Communicate clearly and proactively, especially when navigating project challenges.
- Take ownership of problems and work collaboratively to find solutions.
- You’re curious, open to feedback, and always looking for ways to improve both your work and the team’s processes.
