ABOUT FORESIGHT DIAGNOSTICS

Foresight Diagnostics is a molecular diagnostics company pioneering non-invasive cancer detection through highly sensitive, cell-free DNA-based liquid biopsy technologies. Our proprietary methods - originally developed at Stanford University - are designed to detect smaller tumors earlier and enable more personalized treatment strategies for patients with cancer.

We sit at the intersection of molecular biology, bioinformatics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS), and we translate rigorous science into clinically meaningful solutions. Following our acquisition by Natera, we now combine the agility of a mission-driven startup with the scale and resources of a global leader in cell-free DNA testing. It’s an exciting moment to join us.

Headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, our team operates in a high accountability, collaborative environment where quality and continuous improvement aren’t just values - they’re how we work every day.

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS

The Technical Project Manager will lead the planning and execution of software-focused projects supporting laboratory operations, product development, and internal tools. This role is highly execution-oriented and requires a strong ability to translate business and user needs into clearly defined technical requirements, documentation, and deliverables. Projects may include leading cross-functional teams to develop, verify, validate and deploy custom software systems, such as Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other internally developed software and bioinformatic tools. The role will work closely with software engineering, product software, bioinformatics, laboratory operations, R&D, quality, and regulatory teams to gather requirements, define scope, and ensure solutions are developed, tested, and deployed in accordance with applicable processes and standards. This position will operate within both non-product software SOPs and regulated product software frameworks (IEC 62304), depending on the application, and will play a key role in ensuring appropriate documentation, traceability, and compliance.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, technically fluent, and motivated to “own the work” from requirements through implementation in a regulated, fast-paced environment.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Program Management, with potential alignment under a Senior Program Manager as the team continues to scale.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead execution of software-focused projects from initiation through delivery, including planning, timeline development, resource planning and coordination, risk management, and coordination of day-to-day activities

  • Partner with a Product Owner/Manager to elicit, analyze, and document user and system requirements, partnering with laboratory operations, R&D, and other stakeholders to translate needs into clear, actionable specifications

  • Hold cross-functional teams accountable to develop and maintain project and technical documentation, including requirements, user stories, workflows, and traceability artifacts in accordance with internal SOPs and regulatory standards

  • Coordinate closely with software engineering, bioinformatics teams, and end user stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood, implemented correctly, and delivered on schedule

  • Support development and deployment of LIMS and custom software tools, including enhancements, integrations, and new feature development

  • Ensure compliance with applicable processes, including non-product software SOPs and, where applicable, product software development under IEC 62304 and design control frameworks, including documentation and traceability of requirements and deliverables

  • Manage changes to software systems, including documenting updates, assessing impact, and supporting change control processes

  • Track project progress and proactively identify risks, blockers, and dependencies, driving resolution to maintain timelines

  • Facilitate cross-functional communication, ensuring alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Partner with software development and CLIA Laboratory stakeholders to plan and oversee testing and validation activities and management of user acceptance testing (UAT)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development and project management processes, tools, and documentation standards

  • Adhere to formal governance processes to communicate project status, risks, and trade-offs; escalate issues as needed; and support the development of data-driven recommendations and business proposals to senior leadership to enable timely, informed decision-making

  • Drive cross-functional accountability, influencing without direct authority to ensure alignment, ownership, and timely execution

  • Cultivate, build and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • 2-4+ years of experience in technical project management, software project management, or equivalent combination of relevant functional experience in biotechnology, diagnostics, clinical laboratory, or life sciences industries

  • Experience working on custom software development projects, preferably in life sciences, diagnostics, or regulated environments

  • Background in NGS diagnostics, including assay and software components (MRD experience preferred)

  • Familiarity with laboratory software systems (strongly preferred)

  • PMP, Agile Scrum, or equivalent certification is a plus

  • Strong experience gathering and documenting requirements

  • Understanding of software project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or hybrid)

  • Experience working in or exposure to regulated environments, including software documentation and traceability

  • Familiarity with IEC 62304 and/or software aspects of design controls (ISO 13485) (preferred)

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work closely with engineers and translate between technical and business perspectives

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or similar

  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to identify risks and dependencies

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across technical and non-technical audiences

  • Situational awareness, coupled with facilitation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills to drive cross-functional decision-making

  • This position may be required to work across time zones as needed to support project schedules

  • This role requires periodic onsite engagement to support cross-functional collaboration, program execution, and team alignment.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

This role offers a competitive annual base compensation of $110,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision

  • Flexible PTO and paid holidays

Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
