WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Technical Project Manager will lead the planning and coordination of Data Centre switch migrations across a complex, regulated Financial Services environment. The role requires deep experience in infrastructure migration, strong stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work closely with Application Owners to ensure readiness, remediation, and alignment to engineering and resiliency standards ahead of migration events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Migration Planning & Execution:
  • Develop detailed migration plans for Data Centre switch migrations, including timelines, dependencies, risk assessments, and cutover approaches.
  • Coordinate end-to-end migration activities across infrastructure, network engineering, application teams, and change management.
  • Maintain a centralised migration schedule aligned with enterprise change calendars and regulatory blackout periods.
Application Owner Engagement:
  • Identify and map all impacted Application Owners for each migration event.
  • Lead structured engagement sessions to confirm application dependencies, technical requirements, and potential risks.
  • Ensure Application Owners understand required remediation activities to meet engineering standards.
  • Validate that applications have appropriate resiliency in place prior to migration.
Readiness & Remediation Oversight:
  • Work with engineering teams to define and communicate pre-migration technical standards and compliance requirements.
  • Track remediation activities, ensuring Application Owners complete required updates ahead of migration windows.
  • Coordinate technical validation, testing, and sign-off activities.
Change & Governance:
  • Liaise with Change Management to secure approved migration windows aligned with Application Owners’ change calendars.
  • Ensure all migration activities adhere to internal governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
  • Produce documentation including runbooks, readiness checklists, risk logs, and post-migration reports.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
  • Act as the central point of contact for all migration-related communication.
  • Provide clear, timely updates to senior stakeholders, engineering leads, and programme governance forums.
  • Facilitate technical workshops, readiness reviews, and go/no-go meetings.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager delivering Data Centre migrations within Financial Services.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, switch migrations, and application dependency mapping.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Application Owners to drive remediation and readiness activities.
  • Experience with resiliency standards, HA/DR patterns, and infrastructure engineering best practices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise change management processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • Experience with CMDBs, dependency mapping tools, or network discovery platforms.
  • Background in Financial Services regulatory environments.
