About the Role:
Team Remitly is a digital international money transfer company united through our mission - to tirelessly support our promise to immigrants sending money across the world. We do this by providing immigrants and their families the most trusted financial service products on the planet.
You Will:
- Run Remitly's counterparty credit risk analysis process by periodically analyzing partners' financial risks and maintaining ratings up to date
- Partner with the growth initiatives team on preparing materials for quarterly steering committee meetings
- Support treasury growth initiatives by partnering with business development on expansion into new geographies, including assessing counterparty risk profiles
- Collaborate with Finance, Compliance and Legal team on treasury and risk workstreams and manage process and information flow across multiple functions
- Partner with other functions to prepare audit committee and board materials
- Assist with KYC and regulatory compliance requests from partner banks
- Perform needed ad hoc analysis as requested by treasury leadership
- Understanding, articulating and mitigation risk arising from Third Party reliance with the goal of regulatory compliance and business continuity.
- Prepare updates for the Audit & Risk Committee via the Director of Finance and the leadership team on the status of the third party risk management framework and Remitly’s third party risk
- Assist subject matter experts from Legal, Privacy, Security and Compliance
- Raise awareness across Remitly about the role of the team and each person’s responsibilities.
- Assist teams with regulatory audits that focus on how Remitly manages its third party relationships.
- Build relationships with multiple business units across the Company and our UK and European markets to provide practical advice on a wide range of third party risk matters.
You Have:
- 2+ years experience across finance, and/or treasury
- Familiar with credit risk
- Self-starter, highly ethical, reliable, highly communicative, strong planning and organization skills
- A team approach: this role will require collaboration across the organization
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Professional certification is a plus (CTP)
- Prior experience in a Big Four (KPMG, PWC, EY, Deloitte) is a plus
- You have demonstrable experience in leading, building, embedding and scaling third party risk management processes to effectively onboard, manage and offboard third parties.
- Experience in implementing third party risk management processes in the financial services sector would be highly beneficial.
- You have a track record in taking ownership of cross-functional projects and clear communication, including being able to focus people behind a common goal, ‘tell the story’ and make the complex simple.
- You can adapt your approach to working with a range of stakeholders with different needs.
- You have a knowledge of how fast growth companies work – how to balance between maturity in governance and processes, and the practical considerations of fast growth and scaling.
- You have a get-it-done, collaborative approach to problem solving and an ability to seek creative, risk-based solutions for complex matters with minimal oversight.
- You are well-organised
