Position Description:  
The Senior ServiceNow Identity Security Engineer is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of identity security solutions on the ServiceNow platform, including Veza and related identity governance and authorization visibility capabilities. This role serves as a technical lead on identity security engagements, owning solution architecture, guiding delivery teams, and advising clients on identity security strategy and best practices. 

This position works closely with clients, senior consultants, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant identity security solutions while supporting the growth of Templar Shield’s identity security practice. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow Identity Security and Veza solutions. 
  • Translate complex business and security requirements into scalable technical designs and ServiceNow stories using Agile/SCRUM methodologies. 
  • Own end-to-end technical delivery for identity security engagements, from discovery through deployment and optimization. 
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow identity security modules and third-party platforms. 
  • Design and enhance automation and orchestration workflows using ServiceNow Flow Designer and related capabilities. 
  • Establish and maintain system testing strategies, validation procedures, and deployment documentation. 
  • Lead client stakeholder workshops to assess identity security maturity and define current and future-state requirements. 
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding clients on identity governance, authorization visibility, and access analytics. 
  • Conduct and lead product demonstrations for client discovery, solution validation, and training purposes. 
  • Advise clients on integrating identity security insights into broader cybersecurity programs. 
  • Develop scripts, custom applications, and workflow automation to extend ServiceNow identity security capabilities. 
  • Configure authorization visibility dashboards, analytics, and reporting aligned to client risk and compliance needs. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to identity security configurations, integrations, and performance. 
  • Stay current with identity security trends, emerging threats, regulatory considerations, and ServiceNow platform enhancements. 
  • Provide technical guidance, standards, and best practices to junior engineers and consultants. 
  • Train and mentor team members on ServiceNow identity security, Veza, and delivery methodologies. 
  • Support internal sales and account teams by identifying identity security opportunities and solution approaches. 
  • Assist with proposals, effort estimates, and responses to RFPs related to identity security services.


Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in identity and access management (IAM), cybersecurity, or related IT domains. 
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow and/or Veza, including identity security, IRM, or SecOps modules. 
  • ServiceNow CSA and/or CIS certifications 
  • Strong experience implementing identity governance, access certification, and authorization visibility solutions. 
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow scripting and automation (JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer). 
  • Experience designing and supporting integrations using REST APIs and web services. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead client-facing discussions. 

 

Preferred / Nice-to-Have 

  • Familiarity with CMDB concepts and configuration management integration 
  • Experience with cloud identity integration (AWS IAM, Azure AD/Entra, GCP IAM) 
  • Experience integrating IAM solutions with enterprise systems 
  • Experience with identity platforms such as Veza, SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta, Microsoft Entra, or Clear Skye.
