Role SummaryThe Vice President of Corporate Development drives Compass Surgical Partners’ growth by sourcing, structuring, and executing new de novo and acquisition partnerships that align with Compass’s investment and management criteria. This leader expands Compass’s ASC portfolio through strategic relationship building, market development, and disciplined deal execution—delivering measurable Contribution to Compass (CTC). The VP represents Compass externally with physicians, hospitals, and industry partners and operates fully within the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and First Principles.
What You’ll DoPipeline & Lead Generation
Independently generate a strong pipeline of qualified ASC opportunities through proactive networking, outreach, and relationship cultivation
Build trust-based relationships with physicians, hospital executives, and industry advisors to create ongoing deal flow
Maintain active prospecting cadence and measurable progress across opportunities
Deal Structuring & Execution
Lead all phases of the transaction lifecycle—evaluation, due diligence, pro forma development, negotiation, and closing
Build and interpret detailed financial models that accurately reflect project economics and risk
Negotiate LOIs and structure partnership agreements that balance Compass and physician interests
Ensure smooth handoffs to Implementation and Operations teams to maintain strong partner satisfaction and timely execution
Market Expansion & Strategic Growth
Identify and prioritize 3+ new markets annually through data-driven planning and relationship development
Execute deals that meet or exceed pro forma and profitability expectations
Leverage market insights and competitive intelligence to refine business development strategies
Collaboration & Leadership
Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and Operations to ensure deals are structured for long-term success
Serve as a mentor and thought partner to the broader Business Development team, sharing best practices in prospecting, relationship management, and closing
Represent Compass externally with professionalism and credibility at industry events and partner meetings
What You’ll Bring
10–15+ years of success in healthcare business development, investment, or strategy, ideally within ambulatory surgery, physician partnerships, or healthcare services
Proven track record of independently generating leads and closing complex joint ventures or partnerships
Deep understanding of deal mechanics, equity and debt structuring, and partnership formation
Strong financial acumen with expertise in building and analyzing pro formas
Demonstrated ability to identify risks and craft creative, practical solutions
Proactive Prospecting & Relationship Building: Trusted networker skilled at cultivating high-value physician and hospital relationships; comfortable managing multiple opportunities concurrently
Sales & Negotiation Excellence: Skilled at articulating value propositions, leading complex negotiations, and driving high conversion rates on projects
Strategic Market Insight: Able to identify, prioritize, and penetrate new markets using data and industry intelligence
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Aligns effectively with internal partners (Finance, Operations, Legal) to ensure successful deal execution and integration
