Operating at the intersection of product innovation and commercialization, the leader will conduct comprehensive capability maturity assessments, design value propositions, build & improve current market offering. The role will own the end-to-end product lifecycles & GTM, pioneering market entry for the new COB offering while aggressively expanding the scope and revenue velocity of the Subrogation business across new and existing payer clients. The VP will also evaluate buy-versus-build opportunities, including strategic partnerships, and acquisitions that accelerate solution development, growth and strengthen EXL’s competitive position. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to launch new programs and accelerate growth trajectory of the portfolio through innovative GTM strategies, data-driven solutioning, & exec-level client engagement.
Responsibilities
Program Strategy & Capability Development
- Design & execute the long-term growth and product lifecycle strategy for COB & subrogation/TPL program
- Transform the existing program workflows, capability, analytics models & frameworks into a scalable, tech-enabled, & operational market offering.
- Conduct comprehensive capability maturity assessments of the program to identify operational gaps, re-engineer value propositions, and expand scope impact.
- Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, strategic vendor partnerships, & internal innovation to improve capabilities.
Solution Engineering & Refinement
- Lead the design, development, & continuous improvement of differentiation strategies across both program workflows in pre & post-pay model
- Partner seamlessly with cross functional teams - operations, product, analytics, technology, delivery and clinical teams to build scalable, high-yielding cost-containment solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve program’s performance, capability, scope, operational efficiency, client value proposition & competitive positioning.
Strategic Partnership & Vendor Management
- Drive the "build vs. partner" roadmap for both programs. Identify, negotiate & partner specialized data vendors, technology providers, and strategic partners to accelerate capability building & solution delivery
- Assess strategic investment opportunities that strengthen capabilities and support long-term growth objectives
Go-To-Market (GTM) Execution & Commercial Acceleration
- Design and launch comprehensive GTM strategies for both programs, aligning closely with internal sales, operations, delivery, and marketing teams.
- Partner closely with sales & account team to build a robust opportunity pipeline & steer high-stakes proposal development, cross sell opportunities etc.
- Conduct continuous market analysis & competitive assessments to keep EXL’s program offerings ahead of evolving healthcare payer requirements and industry shifts.
Client Engagement & Advisory
- Serve as a primary, market-facing executive advisor to healthcare payer clients, driving strategic discussions, solution demos, and interactive workshops.
- 12+ years of experience in the U.S. healthcare payer industry,
- 7+ years of work experience in Payment Integrity, with deep expertise in Coordination of Benefits & subrogation
- Proven track record of developing, scaling, and enhancing capabilities, preferably including technology-enabled pre-pay and post-pay solutions, recovery programs, and operational workflows.
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare US payer business, LOB, CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating, negotiating with, and onboarding external vendors
- Ability to drive cross-functional teams across product, operations, technology, analytics, and client-facing functions to deliver innovative, market-ready solutions.
- Proven ability to identify market opportunities, & develop GTM strategies that drive capability development
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Education:
- MBA / Master’s degree in healthcare management, administration,
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Healthcare, Data Analytics, Economics, IT, or engineering.
Salary range: $176,000 - $251,000
The posted range is the hiring range for this role — a subset of the broader range available to employees over time — and reflects base salary across our national hiring scale. Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position. The top of the range is reserved for candidates who notably exceed the requirements; the lower end applies to those with less experience or fewer preferred qualifications. For positions based in higher-cost zones (e.g., California, New York, New Jersey), actual compensation may exceed the posted range; your recruiter will share specifics during the process.
