The VP of IT Infrastructure, Operations, and Security serves as a core member of the senior IT leadership team, providing strategic vision and operational leadership that support service levels and business objectives. The VP oversees teams responsible for Service Desk and Application Support, Customer Technical and Integration Support, and IT Procurement. The role also directs all Infrastructure functions, including Network, Telecom, Server, Data Protection, Cloud and Virtual Infrastructure, Systems and Database Administration, as well as Security for SanMar.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Leadership and management of IT Operations (teams include: Service Desk, Application Support, Customer Technical Support, IT Procurement, Network, Telecom, Security, Server and Database Administration, Cloud and Virtual Infrastructure).
  • Own and drive SanMar’s strategic vision and roadmap for Operations, spearheading key initiatives in partnership with other SanMar department leaders.
  • Lead an effective cross-functional team which is performance and service level driven.
  • Establish and implement security policies, procedures and solutions that reduce the risk and impact of security incidents.
  • Establish and implement monitoring, service level agreements, and incident response processes that reflect the importance of supported customers, users, and systems to our business.
  • Establish routine security and update maintenance cadence for supported systems.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute system and network disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes, procedures, and execution.
  • Develop server and network strategy to leverage Cloud, Colocation and On Premise opportunities to varying degrees based on business need and total cost of ownership.
  • Work closely with external vendors who provide systems, hardware, circuits and services for SanMar IT.
  • Work closely with project delivery teams to provide necessary resources and establish processes and guidelines for the transition at the conclusion of a project to support.
  • Foster a culture of proactive engineering and operational improvement through mentoring, feedback, and metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with IT leadership to drive the evolution of our operational services, allocation and management of resources as well as prioritizing tactical issues while maintaining strategic direction.
  • Build, develop and motivate a team of high-caliber professionals that provide high quality services and enhance the groups’ reputation as a reliable business partner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT Project Management or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in managing IT Operations, Infrastructure and/or Security teams
  • A passion for coaching and developing teams
  • Working knowledge of networking, telecom, server administration, security, user and application support, and both virtual and cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, parallel work efforts and teams; effectively manage competing priorities and mitigate obstacles
  • Passion for continually improving processes, procedures, and services to increase productivity and reliability
  • Creative problem-solver who can manage multiple complex tasks and projects
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with peers, management, and multidiscipline teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain highly technical concepts to non-technical individuals
  • Familiarity with and understanding of key technologies in networking, security, data center, server, etc.

What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $311,000 - $443,000 annually, depending on experience.


Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 30% of base salary.


Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions. Quarterly travel may be required.
