ABOUT THE ROLE

The VP, Media Sales, Financial Services will drive partnerships and solutions revenue within the financial services category. By deploying a deep understanding of the finance industry, this VP will deliver business outcomes to clients' organization. 

This role presents a unique opportunity to lead with influence, challenge the status quo, and ensure we bring our clients solutions that drive ROI. A strong candidate exhibits proven leadership skills, excels at working cross-functionally, and is able to connect the dots to uncover catalysts for growth. 

The VP, Media Sales, Financial Services will be accountable for increasing partnership revenue across all Dow Jones brands and platforms as well as manage a team of Client Directors & Client Partners in NYC and London. We are seeking a strategic leader who enjoys the art of winning business as much as supporting the professional development of individual employees. Ensuring that the team’s work is of the highest caliber, demonstrating sector expertise and exceeding client expectations, will be paramount to success.

YOU WILL

  • Work in our midtown Manhattan office 3 days a week

  • Generate advertising revenues in accordance with specific growth goals

  • Have accountability for the construction of a strategic plan to drive revenue growth within the financial services sector and for key global clients

  • Display deep financial services knowledge as well as the ability to discuss industry trends and pressure points with clients' senior decision makers

  • Understand sector and client business objectives to ensure Dow Jones solutions are positioned appropriately

  • Identify and develop new revenue opportunities within existing clients, working with specialists and product teams (digital, custom content, print, audio, video) across Dow Jones to develop client solutions

  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of consultative selling, providing clients with solutions as opposed to products

  • Lead a team of Client Directors and Client Partners to deliver the highest levels of client service

  • Travel on occasion, as dictated by business needs

YOU HAVE

  • At least 15 years of experience in media sales including a minimum of 8 years selling to or within financial services

  • Experience managing, developing, and empowering a team of direct reports to achieve objectives

  • Hands-on sales executive experience with a proven track record of success selling multiple advertising platforms

  • Demonstrated success presenting complex client proposals, managing the overall sales process, and negotiating on behalf of multiple constituencies

  • Excellent communication skills, a sense of urgency and a proven ability to cultivate client relationships

  • Experience managing multi-layer, multi-year business relationships

  • Experience accurately forecasting revenue for a region

Pay Range: $260,000 - $310,000
