About Leap

Leap is one of the fastest-growing benefits solutions and a category-defining pioneer in employer specialty pharmacy. We are reshaping how life-changing therapies are delivered and financed, ensuring patients get the treatment they need while employers finally get a fair deal.

Specialty drugs and infusions represent nearly 10% of all healthcare spend and are the fastest-growing cost category for employers. Leap tackles this challenge with a novel approach: eliminating hidden markups, expanding access to high-quality infusion providers, and bringing clarity and fairness to how therapies are priced and paid for.

We’re proud to partner with numerous Fortune 500 companies and leading TPAs. Each patient we serve creates immediate ROI: lower costs, improved access, and better care. Join us as we redefine what’s possible in specialty care.

About the Role

Leap is growing quickly, and many of our most important decisions — where to invest, what to prioritize, how aggressively to spend, and how to allocate capital — depend on finance.

As VP of Strategic Finance, you will be the senior finance leader responsible for turning that ambiguity into clear decisions. You will own the operating model the company plans against, build the capital allocation framework that determines what we fund and in what order, and forecast the business when the answer is not obvious.

This is a leadership role with real influence over company strategy. You will lead core FP&A and revenue cycle finance from day one, recruit and build the finance organization as Leap scales, and partner closely with Growth Ops & Strategy, Client Ops & Success, and Member Growth. You will report directly to the President and help shape not only the analysis behind major decisions, but the decisions themselves.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Allocation & Strategic Decisions

  • Build the framework Leap uses to decide where to invest, what to fund, and what to defer

  • Turn ambiguous, high-stakes questions into clear, defensible trade-offs for leadership

  • Own board materials and partner on fundraising, including the model, narrative, and diligence process

  • Help leadership evaluate major investments, hiring plans, client opportunities, and growth bets

Forecasting & Operating Model

  • Own the company operating model and ensure it becomes the source of truth for planning

  • Build client-level forecasts with clear assumptions, ranges of outcomes, and performance goals

  • Set ambitious but credible budgets and manage burn against plan

  • Create the financial visibility leadership needs to make faster, better decisions

Leadership & Team

  • Lead core FP&A and revenue cycle finance through your team

  • Recruit, manage, and develop the finance organization as Leap scales

  • Partner across Growth Ops & Strategy, Client Ops & Success, and Member Growth to pressure-test major bets

  • Build finance into a function the rest of the company relies on for fast, reliable answers

Qualifications

Required

  • You are a strategic finance leader, not just an FP&A operator. You are strongest on the hard prioritization calls: where to invest, what to cut, and what to fund next.

  • You are comfortable with ambiguity. You can forecast a business when the answer is not clean, state your assumptions, and explain where the model may break.

  • You know how to build decision frameworks that leadership actually uses.

  • You think like an underwriter. You can size an opportunity, build the case, and stand behind the number.

  • You have led and built teams. You can recruit, manage, and grow a finance organization, not just do the work yourself.

  • You have 7–10+ years of experience in strategic finance, with a foundation in investment banking, investing, or an equivalently rigorous analytical environment.

Preferred

  • Investing experience in private equity, growth equity, or late-stage venture, especially where you underwrote deals and lived with the outcomes

  • Early-stage or high-growth startup experience

  • Healthcare, healthcare services, benefits, pharmacy, or revenue cycle exposure

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive salary

  • Eligibility for equity

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Access to 401(k) retirement plan

  • Flexible remote work

At Leap, we’re building an outlier company with real impact — and that takes focus, energy, and commitment. If that excites you, we’d love to hear from you.
Leap is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. We’re committed to building a team that reflects a diversity of perspectives, experiences, and identities.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.
