Job Description

This role is with the System Engineering group, not a test group. This means that person needs to understand the system-level not from debugging but at-least a good overall. 

 

There are three components to this role : 

 

1) Excellent hands-on knowledge of 3G PP Call Processing:

 

Not just push the button, but it should be to review the call processing logs and see where the problem is 

 

2) Environment :

 

Not just operate the equipment, but should be able to modify test cases based on needs. Should be able to automate for repeated test cases. 

 

3) System-level understanding

 

A basic understanding of system-level, such as the OSI 7 layer, is the equivalent of it in windows in Android.

  • Client needs people with System Engineering proficiency and Not testing only

  • He/she will not only run the test, but also validate and conclude that test execution was correctly done 

  • Has done and experienced for an end-to-end testing 

  • He/she should know what it means to make Test pass – hence he/she should internals of test and functionalities

  • He /she is responsible for creating test cases

  • Understands the spec, operator environments

  • Interpret the requirement and create spec

  • Do it manually and then they have to do some coding - Automation (python) 

  • Knows Windows drivers and Android

  • He/she knows How does LTE work on tablet or android phones 

  • Has knowledge on all 7 Layers Simple Network Architecture - from model to dialer 

  • Knowledge of Drivers (end-to-end) view 

  • Typically LTE Network Stack Engineers with 3G PP technology

  • Client  uses Environment with simulators 

  • System– Windows or Android platrform

  • He/she doesnot need to be too deep on O/S side (some idea on O/S is preffered) 

  • Client  is looking for System enginerer both from OS side and Windows, even if they are 20% on Windows driver side its ok

  • If the consultant goes to MSDN – they will know 

  • They work on Android and Windows
