Job Title: Workday Senior HCM Consultant
Job Type: Full Time/Salary - must be eligible to work in the United States and not require sponsorship
Job Location: Fully remote with up to 40% travel & reside in the United States
Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000 plus bonus
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and client-focused Workday HCM Consultant (Senior) with experience supporting public sector clients. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on Workday HCM expertise along with a strong understanding of government HR practices. You will be responsible for designing and delivering scalable HCM solutions tailored to the unique requirements of public institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Configure and deploy Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Job Profiles, Positions, Organizations, Compensation, etc.) in alignment with public sector regulatory and organizational needs.
· Translate complex HR business processes into efficient Workday solutions, ensuring compliance with public sector policies, union agreements, and audit requirements.
· Collaborate with HR, IT, and functional leads to gather requirements, document configurations, and deliver enhancements and updates.
· Lead or support functional workstreams during Workday implementations, optimizations, or Phase X rollouts for public entities.
· Conduct testing activities (unit, integration, UAT), support data conversion, and assist with validation and reconciliation processes.
· Provide ongoing production support and troubleshoot system issues post go-live.
· Ensure that Workday security roles and domain policies reflect proper segregation of duties and public sector compliance standards.
· Stay up to date with Workday releases and assess impacts for public sector clients.
Required Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of Workday HCM experience, including configuration and deployment of Core HCM and related modules.
· Experience working with or implementing Workday for public sector organizations (e.g., state/local government).
· Understanding of public sector HR structures, collective bargaining agreements, civil service rules, and position management frameworks.
· Experience with Workday business processes, condition rules, and calculated fields.
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
· Participation in at least one full-cycle Workday implementation.
Preferred:
· Workday certification in HCM (Core or additional modules).
· Familiarity with public sector-specific reporting and compliance requirements.
· Knowledge of Workday security design and domain configuration.
· Prior consulting experience or experience in a shared services/public HRIS team.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Work Environment:
· Remote work with potential travel to client sites as needed.
· Flexible hours, with potential collaboration across time zones.
