Overview

  • Assists in architectural projects by performing the following duties:


Job Responsibilities 

  • Performs assignments utilizing professional architectural, experiences requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria of related architectural tasks. Assignments may require independent and informed judgement, under the supervision of a professional Architect. Assignments shall include more variables and be more complex nature.
  • Performs design and calculation tasks based on standard architectural techniques and procedures. Applies standard practices, architectural fundamentals, and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, and follows design through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
  • Performs design of more complex projects and portions of designs of non-routine projects under direction of Project Architect, or other responsible staff member.
  • May assist in preparing reports, specifications, plans, schedules, cost estimates and permits for projects, under the direction of Project Architect or other responsible staff member.
  • Performs CAD drafting to produce designs into routine final drawings.
  • Research discipline-related code issues and present interpretation.
  • Visits construction site to review, monitor, and report progress and perform other construction administration duties.
  • Has a general understanding and knowledge of construction techniques and constructability.
  • Instructs and mentors junior staff in the development of contract documents.
  • Perform checking of one’s own work and work prepared by and other team members.
  • Provide coordination of all applicable project discipline’s drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in preparing design budgets, marketing proposals and cost estimates.
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Promote communications, cooperation and quality among staff.
  • Must be skilled in the use of:
    • Microsoft Windows, Excel, Bluebeam and Word
    • AutoCAD, Revit
  • Knowledge of the latest computer software for architectural renderings and building energy analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainable/green strategies.
  • Promotes and represents the firm in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for job specific standards, practices and quality as defined in BRPH Quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Three years experience in architecture.
  • Must prepare to take licensing.
