Why should you join Global Enterprise Sales?

As a Business Operations Manager you will serve as the financial and operational right hand to an Area Vice President and the Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) who report to them. Our RSMs are strong strategic operators who spend the bulk of their time in the field with customers, and this role exists to own the tactical, data-driven, financial, and operational work that keeps the business healthy while they do that. You'll partner closely with Strategy & Planning and other functional teams to translate established programs, frameworks, and priorities into consistent regional execution, while maintaining primary accountability to the Area Vice President for regional priorities and outcomes.

What will you be doing?

The Business Operations Manager will collaborate across stakeholder groups to achieve region-specific outcomes in areas including forecast accuracy, margin and pricing strategy, executive engagement, compensation planning, gross profit performance, and expense management. The role supports 2 Regional Sales Managers initially, scaling to up to 10 account teams, and supports up to 3 P&Ls as the role and program mature.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Salesforce Hygiene & Forecast Accuracy: Own the weekly forecast and pipeline-inspection cadence across all supported account teams. Enforce CRM data-entry standards and opportunity hygiene, and hold account managers and RSMs accountable to commit/best-case discipline and forecast variance targets.
  • Margin Analysis & Margin Improvement Strategy: Run recurring deal-level and portfolio margin analysis to flag erosion and at-risk accounts. Build and track margin-improvement action plans with account teams, partnering with Pricing, Delivery, and Finance to close leakage.
  • Pricing Strategy: Advise account teams on deal structuring, discount governance, and competitive positioning. Manage deal-desk escalations and ensure pricing protects margin without slowing deal velocity.
  • Executive Engagement & WWT Event Invitations: Integrate into established frameworks such as Executive Engagement as a Service and Marketing events to support sales area logistics. Manage the executive engagement calendar (EBCs, CABs, and WWT events), ensuring the right customer and WWT executives are identified, invited, and tracked. Measure executive coverage across top accounts.
  • Compensation Planning: Partner with Sales Compensation, HR, and Finance to design, model, and administer territory and individual comp plans. Own plan documentation, exception approvals, and quarterly true-ups, and ensure incentives stay aligned to account, margin, and growth priorities.
  • GP per Head Performance: Track and report gross-profit-per-head by P&L and territory. Identify underperformance and partner with RSMs on remediation and capacity planning.
  • GP → SC Performance: Track, analyze, and report gross profit to SC performance across P&Ls, partnering with Regional Finance and the AVP on trends, targets, and corrective actions.
  • Expense Management: Own budget tracking and expense governance for supported P&Ls. Review and approve or challenge account team spend against policy and ROI, and report variances with a plan to correct them.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
