Job SummaryThe Manager of Client Engineering at FlowPlay is a technical leader focused on delivering seamless, high-performance interactive experiences. You will be responsible for the architecture and delivery of our social casino and online games across multiple platforms. We are looking for a Client Engineering Manager to bridge the gap between our proven core product and modern industry standards. You will be the catalyst for adopting best practices, streamlining our architecture, and moving our engineering culture forward.We are looking for a well-rounded engineering leader who is equally comfortable discussing Unity (C#) game loops, C++ memory management, and modern web frameworks. You will lead a team of 5 - 10 Software Engineers to ensure our games are performant, fun, and visually stunning, regardless of the device. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership skills to drive innovation and excellence in front end engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Drive the technical roadmap for client-side development across our social game products.
- Lead and mentor our multi-disciplinary client engineering team, driving technical excellence in game development, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with other engineers and product leaders to align front end capabilities with game features and business needs
- Partner with our Backend Server team to optimize client-server communication and deliver new features and best practices, as we evolve our game portfolio.
- Drive initiatives for client-side performance profiling and optimization.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in frontend development
- C# & Unity: Expert-level experience building and shipping interactive content using the Unity engine
- C++ Proficiency: Strong understanding of C++ for performance-critical systems or low-level client integrations.
- Knowledge of modern web frameworks
- Bonus points for work experience with Haxe.
- Performance Tooling: Experience using the profilers and browser developer tools to improve load times and memory bottlenecks.
- Familiarity with backend services and operations in a gaming environment.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of leading technical teams in a gaming or high-performance interactive environment.
- Experience collaborating across multiple teams, departments, and disciplines to create solutions and engaging experiences with players in mind.
- Portfolio: Experience shipping at least one major title or large-scale application that utilizes both web and native/engine-based technologies.
- Adaptability: A 'polyglot' mindset—you enjoy picking up the best tool for the job.
