Overview:  

The 3Cloud Consulting Manager leads a team of engineers and architects and helps support solution development innovation and drives consulting best practices of cloud platform solutions that are foundational to a client’s transformational Azure journey.  

The Consulting Manager role provides a career path for Senior Architects to maintain their technical edge while continuing to support client delivery excellence while collaboratively building career development paths for cloud platform architects and engineers.  

Mentorship & People Development 

  • Coaching and Mentorship: 
    Act as a coach in a player-coach model, providing hands-on guidance and support to architects, and engineers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement anchored in a growth mindset, encouraging team members to seek feedback, learn from challenges, and celebrate progress. Maintain regular one-to-one connections with each team member, provide clear feedback, and help them remove blockers related to client work, pursuits, or internal initiatives.  
  • Consultative Leadership: 
    Promote a consultative approach across all team members. Encourage strong relationship-building with clients and peers, and lead by example through thought leadership and strategic influence. 
  • Skills Inventory and Upskilling: 
    Regularly assess individual and capabilities. Develop and implement upskilling plans to ensure every team member has a clear career path aligned with both individual aspirations and organizational growth objectives. Track progress and celebrate milestones in professional development. 
  • Vision and Practice Strategy for Delivery Excellence: 
    Set and communicate practice priorities and organizational objectives clearly, ensuring teams understand how their work contributes to broader organizational goals.  
  • Mange Career Growth Plans and workload: 
    Establish open communication channels within the team.  Maintain a clear view of each team member's delivery commitments, growth plans, and internal contributions. Develop and grow team members through regular coaching, clear expectations, and constructive feedback. Build a culture of trust, inclusion, and collaboration.  Oversee staffing and resource alignment across teams, balancing utilization, development goals, client needs, and sustainable workloads. 
  • Cross-Practice Collaboration: 
    Champion a “One 3Cloud” experience by facilitating collaboration with cross-service line teams (such as Data, App Innovation, and Managed Services). Share best practices and innovative techniques that elevate team performance and drive successful execution across the organization.  Help individuals build their personal professional brand as they look to expand their internal and external network. 
  • Performance Evaluation: 

Lead or support performance reviews, promotion recommendations, and compensation input for your teams, using consistent standards that reflect both impact and behavior.  

Delivery and Team Support Activities 

  • Key and Priority Account Oversight: 
    Oversee and support strategic accounts, ensuring that key and priority clients receive exceptional service and attention. Collaborate with account teams to address complex needs and drive successful outcomes. 
  • Project Escalation Support: 
    Serve as a primary escalation point for project challenges across the organization. Provide guidance and resources to resolve issues efficiently, minimizing disruption to client engagements and maintaining high standards of service. 
  • Change Management and Project Extensions: 
    Proactively facilitate change orders and project extensions when in-flight projects require adjustments. Ensure all changes are communicated clearly to stakeholders and that project scope, timelines, and deliverables remain aligned with client expectations. 
  • Talent Acquisition and Recognition: 
    Participate in the interview and selection process for cloud platform candidates, ensuring new hires align with team capacity needs and organizational culture. Support the upskilling and recognition of team members who demonstrate exceptional client impact and contribute significantly to practice growth. 

Business Growth and Solution Development 

  • Solution Development and Innovation: 
    Support evolution and innovation of cloud platform solutions within your designated solution area. Partner with team leaders and principals to design, refine, and implement scalable delivery standards. 
  • Solution Definition Frameworks: 
    Support Solution Area lead with solution definition frameworks that establish best practices for delivery excellence. Ensure these frameworks are adopted across teams to drive repeatable, high-quality outcomes for clients. 
  • Client Relationship Expansion: 
    Facilitate the development of customer roadmaps and identify next steps to deepen client relationships beyond current engagements. Champion the “Land and Expand” approach to maximize long-term partnership value. 
  • Delivery Escalation and Stakeholder Management: 
    Build and nurture strong relationships with key client stakeholders. Serve as a delivery lead escalation point to ensure client expectations are managed and exceeded, and that any challenges are addressed promptly and effectively. 

Individual Targets 

As a Consulting Manager, you are accountable for achieving the following individual targets that directly support the growth and operational excellence of the Cloud Platform practice: 

  • Drive Business Metrics: 
    Consistently meet or exceed the business metrics set by leadership for your solution area, including Delivered Revenue, Utilization, Project Profitability, and Gross Margin. Monitor performance against these metrics and take corrective action as needed to ensure organizational goals are achieved. 
  • People Retention: 
    Foster a positive, growth-oriented team environment that supports the retention of top talent. Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and career development, resulting in high retention rates and a strong, stable team. 
  • Service Offering Expansion: 
    Actively contribute to the development and launch of new service offerings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify market opportunities, shape innovative solutions, and bring new services to market that address evolving client needs. 
  • AI Enablement: 
    Champion the adoption and integration of artificial intelligence within the team and across service offerings. Promote continuous learning and upskilling in AI technologies to enhance delivery capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

3Cloud offers competitive compensation. In addition to base pay employees are eligible to receive an annual discretionary/utilization bonus. If you are hired at 3Cloud your final base salary is based on factors such as skills, education, experience and/or geographic location. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above includes the full base salary range for the role. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

Base Salary Range
$117,500$176,300 USD
