What We Need:

The Director, Organizational Effectiveness & Transformation will report directly to the Chief People Officer. This team member is responsible for translating Synapse Health's people strategy into structured, well-managed programs that deliver measurable impact; building the systems, cadences, and capabilities that allow the People team and broader organization to execute with rigor. This role directly owns transformation efforts spanning engagement, performance management enablement, change management, and communications, and serves as the People team's center of expertise on AI-enabled workflow transformation.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with People leadership to shape the overarching people strategy and translate it into an actionable, sequenced roadmap.
  • Build the project management muscle within the People team — standardizing how initiatives are scoped, sequenced, tracked, and closed out.
  • Own the employee engagement strategy end-to-end — from listening (surveys, pulse checks, focus groups) to insight generation, action planning, and leader accountability for follow-through.
  • Co-design the performance management strategy in close partnership with Learning & Development, equipping managers and People Partners with the frameworks needed to run performance conversations well.
  • Own the change management strategy for major People-led and organization-wide initiatives, partnering closely with Internal Communications on messaging, sequencing, and reinforcement.
  • Serve as the internal center of expertise that equips People Partners to confidently drive people strategy within their client groups, building playbooks, toolkits, and frameworks they can deploy directly.
  • Lead the People team's approach to AI enablement — identifying where AI can improve workflows, capability-building, and change adoption across the organization, while supporting Synapse Health's broader AI enablement strategy from a people and workforce readiness perspective.
  • Champion culture initiatives that keep pace with organizational growth and evolving ways of working.
  • Continuously assess and redesign People workflows to remove friction and build scalable foundations.

Note: These responsibilities reflect the general nature and scope of the role but are not exhaustive. Responsibilities may evolve to meet changing business needs.

What You Have:

  • At Synapse Health, we’ve intentionally built a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and creativity, qualities we consider essential for every team member. Additional requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in HR, Organizational Development, or related field is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HR, People Operations, Organizational Development, or Organizational Effectiveness, including experience leading transformation or change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience building or scaling project management practices within a People/HR function.
  • Strong track record designing and executing employee engagement and performance management strategies.
  • Experience partnering with Communications or Change Management functions on large-scale organizational change.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and ability to learn department and job-specific software systems.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills when problem-solving.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Familiarity with how AI tools and technologies are reshaping people and workflow strategy; direct implementation experience a strong plus.
  • A systems thinker who can design scalable infrastructure while also following through on execution details.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating as a trusted advisor to People Partners and senior leaders alike.
  • Bias toward action, ownership, and continuous improvement — energized by change rather than fatigued by it.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $135,000 – $175,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions. Compensation discussions are encouraged throughout the hiring process.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
