Kickstarter is the leading crowdfunding platform for creative projects across film, games, music, art, design, and technology. Since our founding in 2009, our mission to help bring creative projects to life has been powered by the people behind the work.

Together, we’ve helped creators around the world launch creative projects that have generated billions of dollars in pledges. That same commitment extends inward. Rooted in shared values, Kickstarter invests in the growth and success of our team, treating employees as whole people and empowering them with the autonomy and space to participate in decisions that shape their work and our company.

As Temporary Executive Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the CEO and other leaders in the executive team. You’ll provide support in meetings, do research for projects, manage schedules, and help optimize workflows. You’ll also coordinate travel logistics, triage meeting requests, and submit expense reports as needed. As a trusted resource for important information and company-wide alignment, you’ll help the executive team draft and distribute internal communications.  Above all, you’ll serve as a trusted resource to the executive team as we work to better serve our communities of creators and backers.

This is a temporary, full-time position expected to run from roughly mid November 2026 through the end of March 2027 and not eligible for benefits. Hourly rate: $30-35/hr

Please note that this role requires working outside of working hours and a willingness to check emails on weekends.

In this role, you will:
  • Take over management of the CEO’s active calendar, with additional calendar support assigned as bandwidth permits.
  • Provide calendar and administrative support to additional executives for specific events, meetings, and communications.
  • Work closely and effectively with the team by anticipating needs, proactively identifying solutions, and implementing process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve and optimize calendar management and administrative processes.
  • Organize and facilitate assigned meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking and distributing meeting notes.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for multiple executives (ad hoc).
  • Handle ad hoc responsibilities as needed, including organizing events and offsites, coordinating travel, processing invoices, and supporting occasional work outside of regular business hours.
  • Provide recruiting support as requested by the People team, including coordinating interviews and calendars across candidates and interview panels and tracking candidate communications.
About You
  • You have extensive experience supporting a CEO and triaging multiple executives’ calendars and administrative needs, all while maintaining the utmost level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • You have experience working proactively and autonomously in a dynamic, fluctuating environment.  This person should be comfortable pivoting and responding quickly as an executive’s priorities or needs change.
  • You’re constantly thinking of ways to optimize your workflow.
  • You excel in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing with grace.
  • You’re culturally-savvy, internet-savvy, and tech-savvy. Vocabulary and names are easy for you to pick up.
  • You’re detail-oriented and confident in your communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • You know how to connect with creative people and welcome the opportunity to experiment with a new approach.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
