The Montcure team recognizes the unique challenges faced by organizations and governments in today's rapidly evolving business environment.

About the Role

Montcure, LLC is hiring a Financial Management Audit Support Senior to support a U.S. Navy / DoW financial management organization in responding to its financial statement audit. Working under the direction of a Manager, you will prepare populations, compile and review key supporting documentation (KSD), perform reconciliations, and run data analytics in key areas that may include Balance Sheet line items such as General PP&E and Inventory, Expense and Revenue (Procure to Pay and Order to Cash), and beginning balances.

What You'll Do

  • Execute assigned audit support tasks under the direction of the Manager, following established work plans, templates, and timelines.
  • Compile and review KSD for selected samples against IPA test attributes (e.g., existence, completeness, accuracy, valuation, cutoff), and identify gaps before submission.
  • Trace Procure to Pay transactions (obligation, receipt and acceptance, invoice, disbursement) and Order to Cash transactions (reimbursable order, billing, collection) to source documents and system records.
  • Support beginning balance testing by gathering historical documentation and supporting analyses for selected balances.
  • Perform account and subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations, research variances, and document results.
  • Run data analytics to identify anomalies, duplicate records, aged items, and unsupported transactions, and summarize results for the Manager.
  • Draft responses to auditor Provided-by-Client (PBC) requests and track their status against deadlines.
  • Document exceptions and their root causes to support Notice of Finding and Recommendation (NFR) responses.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited United States college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a field of study relevant to the role. An additional two (2) years of relevant experience may substitute for the minimum education requirement.

Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in Federal financial management, accounting, or audit readiness.
  • Working understanding of how transactions and account balances flow through the USSGL to the financial statements.
  • Experience supporting financial statement audits from the management side, including preparing populations, compiling KSD, and responding to PBC requests.
  • Experience supporting audit testing in one or more key areas: General PP&E, Inventory, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, or beginning balances.
  • Experience performing reconciliations and researching variances.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Navy ERP or another Federal ERP system.
  • Proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools; experience with Advana/Jupiter and Foundry is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Navy FMO/FMS or major Navy commands on audit readiness.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CDFM, CGFM) or progress toward them.

Status: Contingent – this contract is contingent upon award.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
