About Fluidstack

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

How We Operate
  • Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.

  • Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

  • First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

  • Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

The People Team

Examples of key problems the team is working on

  • Build the people function from scratch, fast enough to keep up with 10x growth. We grew headcount 10x in the last year and we're not slowing down. You'll build the systems, programs, and team from nothing, and make them work before we outgrow them.

  • Reinvent people operations around AI. Doing this by hand doesn't scale to a workforce growing this fast on a team this lean. You'll put AI at the core of how the function runs, so a small team supports many times its number.

  • Own the culture and comms as the company scales. When a company scales this quickly, staying connected and aligned doesn't happen on its own. You'll own the internal comms, events, and rhythm that keep a multi-site team that's growing fast bound to a shared culture.

Role Scope
  • Manage the Office Managers across every Fluidstack location, setting the bar for how each office should run and holding them to it.

  • Set and maintain the workplace standard that holds across every office, so the day-to-day experience doesn't depend on who's running which building.

  • Own the global workplace budget, rolling up spend across every office and catching problems before they show up in a quarterly review.

  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships that operate across multiple offices, giving Office Managers a strong foundation to run day-to-day vendors locally.

  • Act as the point of escalation for workplace issues that outgrow what a single Office Manager can resolve alone, from a lease issue to a multi-office rollout.

  • Hire, coach, and develop new Office Managers as Fluidstack opens new sites.

What We're Looking For

The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.

  • You've managed a team of people who each own their own site, space, or territory, and you know how to hold a consistent bar without micromanaging local judgment calls.

  • You've run a multi-location vendor program before and understand the leverage and consistency it takes to make a broader contract actually work at each site.

  • You've owned a budget that rolls up across multiple sites and can catch problems before they show up in a quarterly review.

  • You coach managers to solve their own problems rather than solving every problem for them.

  • You've hired and onboarded people into an operations or workplace role and can tell quickly who's going to be great at it.

  • You communicate clearly under pressure, especially when something breaks across more than one office at once.

Bonus: Experience opening new offices or scaling workplace programs across multiple countries. Familiarity with workplace technology platforms used across locations, such as access systems, desk booking, or AV.

Salary & Benefits
  • Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity).

  • Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms.

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.

  • Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms.

Total compensation may also include equity in the form of restricted stock units.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
