Position Summary
The Zumiez Brand Marketing Department is a dynamic team of omnichannel creatives focused on crafting unforgettable experiences for our customers. From exclusive events to comprehensive promotional campaigns, we're in the business of making an impact. We're seeking a Graphic Designer with a keen eye for typography and layout, a passion for trend research, and a drive to experiment and iterate. This role offers significant creative autonomy across a wide array of projects and requires occasional travel.
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Collaborate with the Art Director to conceptualize and design logos and branding for diverse projects.
  • Present and refine design concepts at a rapid pace, incorporating feedback to elevate your work.
  • Engage in promotional projects and create co-branded materials for a variety of media, including print, web, and social.
  • Generate additional graphic assets as needed, ensuring deliverables meet Zumiez's standards for quality and timeliness.
 
Collaborate with the Art Director to
  • Concept and design unique, brand appropriate logos for various internal and external projects
  • Present design comps to relevant groups and refine work at a self-directed, rapid pace
  • Concept, design, organize, implement and set-up print ready artwork for various print projects
  • Collaborate with other design team members on various promotional projects
  • Concept, design, and present co-branded materials for print, web, social and other promotional media
  • Create additional graphic assets (layouts, large format banners, web images, typography and decals) as needed in coordination with the design team
  • Deliver final art files to vendors and internal stakeholders in a timely manner and meet quality standards
 
Qualifications
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design strongly preferred, consideration provided for an equivalent mix of experience and education.
  • Deep appreciation for action sports culture.
  • Diverse portfolio demonstrating strong typography and layout skills across various mediums.
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable with brainstorming and feedback.
Technical Requirements
  • Mastery of Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Additional consideration for skills in 3D rendering, Airtable, and video production.
 
Physical Demands
  • Frequent use of hands for computer work; ability to sit for extended periods.
  • May occasionally need to lift and/or move items up to fifteen pounds.
 
Benefits
  • Salary Range:$48,000–$60,000 per year (equivalent to approximately $24.00--$30.00 per hour)
