Summary We are seeking a Head of Legal & Compliance with 10+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) to support our crypto exchange client. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in digital asset platforms and native-level fluency in both Mandarin and English. This is a remote position requiring deep jurisdictional expertise in one or more of the following regions: Hong Kong, Singapore, the USA, or the EU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Advisory: Provide expert legal counsel on complex compliance and regulatory matters specific to the cryptocurrency exchange sector.

  • Documentation & Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts, user agreements, and legal disclosures in both Mandarin and English.

  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure strict adherence to global legal standards and internal corporate policies across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Global Coordination: Liaise with international legal teams and external counsel to ensure consistent legal practices and brand protection worldwide.

  • Risk Mitigation: Analyze intricate legal challenges and provide proactive, strategic solutions to safeguard the business.

  • Horizon Scanning: Stay abreast of evolving regional regulatory changes and assess their impact on the exchange’s global operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years of PQE, with a proven track record in a legal leadership role, preferably within a major crypto exchange or fintech firm.

  • Languages: Native or professional-grade fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and verbal).

  • Jurisdictional Expertise: Admission to the bar in Hong Kong, Singapore, the USA, or an EU member state.

  • Domain Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international regulatory frameworks governing digital assets, AML/CTF, and securities laws.

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships globally.
