THE OPPORTUNITY

As a leader in the Global Architecture Department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality enterprise architecture services that enable secure, scalable and innovative capabilities, systems and applications at Aritzia. You will play a pivotal role in shaping Aritzia’s technology landscape across integral Support division areas like Finance, Legal, People & Culture, as well as enterprise-wide ERP capabilities – partnering directly with domain Technology leaders to assess our current corporate systems landscape, identify capability gaps against Aritzia’s growth ambitions, and define future-state architectures that are scalable and built for the next phase of business growth. You will bring deep knowledge in ERP-centric environments and navigate our vertically integrated retail business where corporate systems touch everything from merchandise financial planning to workforce optimization to cross-border compliance. You will own the multi-year architecture vision for corporate systems and elevate the architectural maturity of our organization – setting the standard for how we evaluate, adopt, and govern enterprise platforms at Aritzia. With your valuable contribution to the business in this role, the opportunities are endless — from a rewarding career in Global Architecture to continued growth with Aritzia.

THE ROLE

As the Principal Enterprise Architect, you will:

  • Translate corporate strategy and business transformation goals into actionable architecture blueprints that balance ambition with operational readiness and ensure architecture investments deliver tangible business value.
  • Lead the multi-year architecture strategy and roadmap for Aritzia’s corporate systems domain — spanning Finance & Legal Tech, People & Culture Tech, SAP ERP, and cross-functional enterprise platforms — ensuring alignment with Aritzia’s corporate objectives and investment priorities with clear, sequenced outcomes.
  • Drive modernization across the Finance, Legal, and People & Culture Technology domains, ensuring flexibility and future-readiness.
  • Lead the architecture vision for modernizing SAP ECC, including the strategic migration to S/4HANA.
  • Architect robust, scalable integration patterns between SAP, HR, Finance, Legal, and enterprise data platforms—defining a cohesive integration strategy that spans API-led connectivity, event-driven architectures, middleware (EDI, iDoc), and cloud integration platforms (SAP Integration Suite, MuleSoft, or equivalent).
  • Evaluate and rationalize enterprise SaaS platforms to reduce vendor sprawl, improve capability alignment, and optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Establish and maintain organizational architectural standards to ensure new solutions are secure and scalable
  • Mentor enterprise architects and senior engineers across the organization, elevating architectural thinking, technical quality, and the discipline of translating business problems into well-reasoned technology strategies.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Principal Enterprise Architect has proven skills, certifications, education, and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent. Advanced degree is an asset.
  • SAP certification in one or more relevant modules (FI/CO, MM, SD, HCM) preferred.
  • TOGAF, SABSA, or equivalent enterprise architecture framework certification is an asset.
  • Experience with retail or vertically integrated business models is strongly preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise architecture, ERP delivery, or IT strategy, with significant tenure in complex, multi-system environments. At least 5 years in a principal or lead architect capacity with direct accountability for architecture strategy across multiple corporate functions.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise ERP architecture, including SAP ECC and S/4HANA, with experience leading full lifecycle ERP transformations in complex, multisystem environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of core ERP capabilities across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and Procurement, with an understanding of customization tradeoffs, technical debt, and modernization paths.
  • Proven experience designing enterprise integration architectures using APIs, event driven patterns, EDI/iDocs, and cloud integration platforms.
  • Solid grounding in master data management, data governance, and ERP centric data architecture.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and modern application delivery practices in hybrid on prem/cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute multiyear architecture visions and transformation roadmaps that balance long-term integrity with delivery realities.
  • Proven leadership of large-scale enterprise transformations, including vendor evaluation, systems integrator oversight, and change navigation.
  • A commitment to learn, apply, champion and enrich Aritzia's Values and Business and People Leadership principles.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
