Job Summary & Responsibilities

Skills Required 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree - preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Supply Chain or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in application development, including experience building custom, enterprise-grade applications 
  • Technical Skills: 
    • Front End: Strong experience with JavaScript, Node.js, and modern front-end frameworks specifically Vue.js 
    • Back End: Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Python object-oriented development, and RESTful API design 
    • Data: Experience with relational and NoSQL data sources such as Oracle and MongoDB, including database design, optimization 
    • Engineering Practices: Deep understanding of version control and branching strategies, automated testing, and CI/CD practices 
    • AI-Powered Development Tools: Proficiency with AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Devin, GitHub Copilot) and a demonstrated ability to apply them to accelerate delivery without compromising quality 
  • Technical Leadership:  Ability to lead and guide multiple teams, make decisions and provide technical directionAbility to inspire and motivate teams fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. 
  • Adaptability Capability to adapt to changing requirements, technology trends, and business needs. 
  • Decision-Making:  Strong decision-making abilities to evaluate trade-offs and make informed choices that balance technical and business considerations. 
  • Strategic Thinking:  Ability to think strategically about technology and its alignment with business goals, driving long-term technical vision and planning.

Skills Preferred 

  • Search and Streaming: Experience with Solr and with real-time Kafka streaming architecture at scale 
  • Event-Driven Architecture: Experience designing and supporting event-driven, distributed systems 
  • Observability: Experience with monitoring and observability tooling such as Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana 
  • Experience working in Supply Chain, Order Management, Procurement, or ERP-integrated environments 
  • Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and other ERP systems 
  • Supply chain domain knowledge 
  • Ability to develop and integrate AI application components including LLM-based features, agentic workflows, and AI APIs 

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of the salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $122,800 to $153,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that are not included in the base pay.

World Wide Technology, Inc. currently has an opportunity available for a Lead Developer on the Order Management and Procurement team in the IT – Supply Chain organization, located at our headquarters in St. Louis, MO.  The Order Management and Procurement Team lies at the heart of our supply chain, playing a critical role in building and supporting the systems that ensure the reliable and seamless creation and management of over one million orders annually  Collaborating closely with our business stakeholders, we develop solutions that drive efficient and effective operations at scale.

What will you be doing?  
This role uses a broad range of functional and technical skills toward the build-out and integration of custom WWT applications and third-party vendor systems and products. This position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and deployment of software solutions.   • Software Design and Development: Collaborate, develop and communicate a clear technical vision and roadmap ensuring that it supports the long term strategic goals set by Architecture/IT Sr Leadership. 
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the design and architecture of complex solutions ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals of the organization. 
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Lead by example, promoting a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation within the organization to foster technical growth at scale. 
  • Innovation and Problem Solving: Evaluate and incorporate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance development processes and product capabilities within teams and the organization. 
  • Testing: Ensure that appropriate testing strategies (unit, integration, regression, UAT) are in place and that test coverage of the team/organization is in place and meets standards set by Quality Engineers. 
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in development processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance team efficiency and outcomes. 
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and issues related to design and development and develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks to ensure success. 
  • Coding Standards: Enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability. 
  • AIAugmented Development: Leverage AIpowered tools (e.g., code assistants, test generation, documentation support, analysis tools) to accelerate development workflows, improve code quality, enhance testing strategies, and reduce defects. 
  • AI Advocacy and Enablement: Serve as an advocate for AIassisted development practices by sharing knowledge, use cases, and best practices with team members to elevate overall team productivity and effectiveness. 
  • Responsible AI Usage: Apply AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly, ensuring outputs meet WWT quality standards, security requirements, and ethical guidelines. 
  • Hands-On Delivery: Lead end-to-end development across front-end and back-end components, contributing directly to complex feature development and critical path work. 
  • Architecture to Implementation: Translate architectural designs into scalable, maintainable technical implementations, and proactively identify technical risks and design gaps.
