How You'll Make an Impact
- Direct daily operations to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of Spectrum's network and facility systems
- Guide and empower a team handling installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data center equipment and infrastructure
- Ensure cabling, equipment installation, power, cooling, and environmental systems meet corporate standards and engineering practices
- Oversee preventive maintenance, inspections, operational checks, testing, and documentation to support compliance with company policies and regulations
- Manage upgrades and support activities for critical infrastructure, including power, HVAC, generators, fire suppression, and monitoring systems
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, construction, and vendors to support facility projects, equipment installations, and expansions
- Set priorities, allocate resources, resolve operational issues, and communicate risks and activities to leadership
Working Conditions

What You'll Bring to Spectrum
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent field experience in science, technology, engineering, electronics, or related discipline
- Trade/apprenticeship training or discipline-specific licenses/certifications considered for equivalent experience alignment
Experience
- 6+ years of data center technician, electronics, network implementation, critical infrastructure, or related hands-on technical experience
- 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience
Skills
- Lead and develop employees in a 24x7 operational environment
- Prioritize, organize, and manage multiple workstreams
- Communicate effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and cross-functional partners
- Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, technical drawings, and construction documents
- Operate computers, software applications, handheld devices, and test equipment
- Work independently and make sound operational decisions
- Working knowledge of data center operations, structured cabling, optical transport, and network support
- Working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems such as electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generators, fire suppression, and monitoring/control systems
- Knowledge of basic mathematics, electronics, and safe work practices
- Safely use ladders, hand tools, and related equipment
- Work in tight spaces and around small components and cabling
- Ability to work in high stress, fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Certifications related to optical transport, critical infrastructure, or data center operations
Experience
- 2+ years of management or leadership experience
Skills
- Knowledge of Spectrum products and services
- Knowledge of NEC, IMC, and networking communications
- Basic Linux and server administration skills
- Understanding of optical transport technologies including DWDM and connectivity
- Knowledge of data center critical infrastructure including UPS, generators, HVAC, fire suppression, monitoring/control systems, and power distribution
- Experience in mission-critical facilities or data center environments
- Project management or technical team lead experience
- Operating knowledge of emergency alert systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a mission-critical environment
- Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Work from elevated locations when required
