About OfferUp

OfferUp believes all value starts local. Our marketplace makes it easier for people and businesses to find more of what they need, right where they are—from great deals and secondhand finds to local services, rentals, jobs, and new customers.

We’re building the next chapter of OfferUp, and Consumer Marketing has an important job to do: create future demand, capture existing demand efficiently, reactivate people who already know us, and connect our investment to our strongest local marketplaces.

The role

We’re looking for a hands-on paid acquisition marketer to own the day-to-day operation of our consumer media channels across Meta, Google and YouTube, TikTok, Snap, and emerging paid tests.

This is a role for someone who can build and QA a campaign themselves, spot a performance shift before it becomes a problem, and explain what changed without hiding behind a dashboard.

You’ll turn our broader growth strategy into clean, consistent execution: media planning, campaign setup, trafficking, pacing, optimization, platform QA, testing, troubleshooting, and weekly channel diagnostics.

The sweet spot is someone who can live inside the platforms without getting trapped at platform altitude—operationally rigorous, analytically sharp, and always aware of the role each channel plays in the larger growth system.

What you’ll do
  • Own daily and weekly paid-channel operations across Meta, Google/YouTube, TikTok, Snap, and new platform tests.
  • Translate growth strategy and budget allocations into executable media plans by channel, market tier, objective, audience, and campaign type.
  • Build, traffic, and maintain campaigns, including targeting, bidding, budgets, naming conventions, UTMs, placements, creative mapping, and launch QA.
  • Monitor and optimize performance across CPI, CPM, CTR, CVR, install volume, reach, frequency, geo performance, and creative fatigue.
  • Deliver first-pass channel diagnostics: what changed, why we believe it changed, and what action should follow.
  • Keep budgets pacing cleanly and surface risks, opportunities, and material variances early.
  • Design disciplined tests across creative, audience, geography, placement, bidding strategy, and campaign objective.
  • Partner with creative and growth leads to traffic new assets quickly and translate performance signals into useful creative feedback.
  • Manage relationships with platform partners, troubleshoot account and delivery issues, and stay current on meaningful platform changes.
  • Maintain clear campaign documentation and operating standards so our work is consistent, auditable, and easier to learn from.
  • Contribute to weekly performance reporting and make clear recommendations about what to scale, adjust, pause, or investigate.
What you’ll bring
  • 5+  years of hands-on paid acquisition, performance marketing, or media-buying experience, ideally for a consumer app, paid media agency, or digital marketplace.
  • Deep working experience in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads, including app acquisition and YouTube campaigns.
  • Meaningful experience operating campaigns on TikTok; Snap experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing substantial, multi-channel budgets with strong pacing and forecasting discipline.
  • Fluency in mobile acquisition measurement and attribution, including MMPs such as AppsFlyer, campaign taxonomy, UTMs, deep links, and event tracking.
  • Strong analytical command of CPI, CPM, CTR, CVR, frequency, install volume, cohort quality, and downstream engagement.
  • The ability to distinguish between an auction problem, a creative problem, a targeting problem, a tracking problem, and normal performance variance.
  • Experience creating test structures that produce interpretable results—not simply launching more variations.
  • Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the business question behind the work.
  • Clear, concise communication and the confidence to surface misses, risks, and uncertainty early.
  • A low-ego, high-ownership approach. You care more about getting to the right answer than protecting the first one.
  • A media or performance agency background is strongly preferred.
Extra credit
  • Experience with geo-based media planning, DMA-level analysis, incrementality testing, or matched-market studies.
  • Experience with retargeting, reactivation, reach-and-frequency campaigns, or upper-funnel video.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Tableau, SQL, or similar analytics environments.
  • Experience marketing a two-sided marketplace or a product whose value depends on local density.
  • Experience working closely with creative teams, creators, or UGC production partners.
What success looks like
  • Our channels run cleanly, consistently, and without avoidable pacing or setup surprises.
  • Every material campaign has a clear objective, test structure, and measurement plan.
  • Weekly reporting quickly answers three questions: What changed? Why? What do we do next?
  • Performance problems are surfaced early rather than explained late.
  • Creative, audience, channel, and geo learnings reliably inform the next round of work.
  • The broader Growth team spends less time maintaining the machinery and more time improving the growth system.

You’ll inherit meaningful scale, established channels, ambitious creative work, and real business questions - not a playbook. You’ll have the room to make the operation sharper, the learning faster, and the connection between media investment and marketplace growth clearer for our nimble, collaborative team.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
