During the internship, you will work on meaningful marketing projects tied to a current business opportunity. Your work may include customer and market analysis, messaging and positioning, go-to-market planning, campaign strategy, or recommendations to improve customer adoption. You'll be able to explore and learn about many areas of Marketing at Microsoft such as Product Marketing, Business Planning, Events, Integrated Marketing, Market Research, Marketing Technology, and Media.  

As a Marketing MBA Intern, you’ll also be part of the Marketing Aspire MBA Rotation Program (MAMBA), which begins with the summer internship. If you receive and accept an offer to return to Microsoft Marketing full-time after graduation, you’ll continue in the program with three rotations over one year, beginning in July 2028. Participation in the MAMBA program, internship and full year rotations, requires being located in or relocating to Redmond, WA. These rotations provide experience across different Microsoft Marketing teams and exposure to a broad range of learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

Determines marketing strategy for products and offerings through marketing plans, product content, and internal and external evangelism. Understands, orchestrates, and influences campaigns and marketing activities, develops integrated marketing campaigns, and delivers product solutions and customer campaign feedback to the business. You may learn how to: 

  • Develop a Messaging and Positioning Framework (MPF) for a product/service, including creating supporting marketing collateral and assets 
  • Define and execute a Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and amplify across marketing channels 
  • Craft compelling customer stories and evangelize through key moments 
  • Develop competitive insights and optimize customer adoption  
  • Map a customer journey and craft lifecycle marketing to match

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications (RQs/MQs) 

  • Currently pursuing Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. 
  • Must have at least one semester/year of school remaining following the completion of the internship.  
  • 3+ years full-time career experience prior to pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. 

Additional or Preferred Qualifications (PQs) 

  • Proven aptitude for seeking creative solutions to multi-faceted problems.  
  • Verbal and written communication, analytical and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.     
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.     
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and lead from any role.  
  • Curiosity about evolving, cutting-edge technology and its implications for customers and marketers
