This is a remote role working Monday-Friday business hours. Advocate Health may approve those who wish to work out of the following registered states: AL, AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, IL, LA, KS, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Pay Range:

$33.05 - $49.60

Performs complex planning and analysis functions; organizes implements and manages physician compensation plans and projects following guidelines established by Leadership; designs, develops and utilizes financial monitoring tools; performs quantitative analysis; provides decision and guidance particularly in interpretation of trends and variance analysis; and performs other related duties as assigned.  Leads consultations with PSAs and Service Line leaders to design tools to heighten physician engagement and compensation transparency.  Leads team within the Physician Compensation Department to accomplish above goals.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides counsel and assistance to physician compensation staff on issues related to physician compensation practices, policies and procedures.

  • Serves as a mentor to train and develop staff.  Trains new staff on Physician Compensation procedures and policies.
  • Ability to audit and maintain physician labor tracking systems and provide financial analyses support.
  • Leads Physician Compensation Department teams to create and or design physician compensation reports, plans,  databases or documentation to improve processes and procedures.
  • Consults with leadership on current compensation processes, procedures and policies. Refers complex questions, issues and/or concerns to Leadership. Establishes and maintains successful working relationships with assigned administrators and Leadership as well as payroll and legal departments.
  • Develops and improves physician compensation report automation. Conducts process advancement initiatives that improve accuracy of physician compensation report templates.
  • Conducts accurate compensation calculations, analyses and evaluations according to compensation policies and practices for all assigned requests. Performs monthly physician compensation calculations accurately and on time.
  • Provides detailed physician compensation analysis. Proactive in anticipating leadership questions and providing pertinent physician compensation data, analysis and market information to enable the CCC to make informed decisions. Based on physician compensation analyses, collaborates with requestor on best next steps. Ensures internal equity and external competitiveness when evaluating physician compensation plans or when providing analyses to the CCC.
  • Assists in developing new physician compensation plans while ensuring current compensation plan methodology is established and maintained for each plan developed or analyzed. Communicates the methodology and results to Leadership. 
  • Ensures required documentation is maintained in an organized manner.
  • Works with Leadership to determine fair market value for various external and internal candidates with consideration given to organization strategy and physician specialty needs.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • BA or equivalent knowledge in Finance or related field

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 5 years of experience

  • Proven analytical skills, including ability to manage large databases, analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems creatively.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • This position requires travel so will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
