About Omnidian
Omnidian, Inc. is a fast-growing Series C tech-enabled service company revolutionizing performance assurance for the distributed solar and energy storage industries. The Job
The Commercial Portfolio Operations Manager oversees a portfolio of assigned distributed generation solar assets and energy storage projects, ensuring optimal performance for their clients. Reporting to the Manager of Commercial Operations, this role works closely with the entire Commercial Operations Team. As the primary point of contact for their clients, the qualified candidate will work cross-functionally to manage the full asset lifecycle: onboarding new clients and assets, delivering on reporting obligations, coordinating technical support and service technicians, and supporting sales and product development initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Own client relationships for a portfolio of 100–200 MW of distributed solar assets post-PTO, advising on preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Report on monthly asset performance, providing both executive summaries and deeper technical explanation as needed.
- Convert DAS provided technical performance into a business narrative: lost production into lost revenue, downtime into guarantee or incentive risk, proposed maintenance into cost avoidance, increased availability into increased revenue.
- Anticipate client and portfolio needs, manage expectations proactively, and preserve the relationship through service failures.
- Treat client retention, renewal, and portfolio health as cross functionally owned outcomes.
- Deliver service reports and support technicians on site completing work in the field
- Create and manage Salesforce Cases and Work Orders for planned and unplanned service activities
- Serve as the technical point of contact between the client, Performance Management, Field Operations and Technical Operations
- Track open technical escalations across a portfolio, ensuring Performance Management and Technical Operations findings translate into timely client communication and follow-through.
- Determine when an issue requires escalation to Performance Management or Technical Operations versus what can be resolved through standard field service dispatch. Flag systemic or recurring issues observed across a portfolio to Performance Management for fleet-level trend analysis
- Maintain working knowledge of common failure modes and DAS alarm patterns sufficient to have an informed technical conversation with clients and internal specialist teams
- Advise clients on repair vs. replace and warranty pursuit decisions based on synthesized input from Technical Operations and Performance Management
Who You Are
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including professional email etiquette and a relationship-building mindset
- Prior client success or customer service experience is a plus
- Highly organized, with the ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously and deliver quality work at volume
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Solid technical understanding of business operations and a knack for quickly learning new tools (CRM, support ticketing, ERP, BI)
- Familiarity with solar PV systems — components, installation, monitoring, and performance troubleshooting
- Ownership mentality: sees issues through, escalates appropriately, and follows up with the client
- Thrives in a fast-paced, growth-mode environment; adapts quickly and stays composed under pressure
- Eager to keep learning and expanding your skill set
Experience You'll Need
- 1+ years of experience in Commercial operations and maintenance, asset management, field service management, or account management.
- 2+ years of experience in the solar energy industry
- 3+ years of professional experience with proven professional acumen
- Proven experience with client success and customer service
- Experience with solar monitoring DAS platforms and alerts.
- Experience reading and interpreting solar system design drawings.
- Understanding of solar technology, monitoring systems, maintenance practices, and solar industry landscape.
Experience That's a Plus
- 3+ years of solar experience
- 2+ years of Commercial post installation experience
