Overview

The AI Economy Team at Microsoft is building the infrastructure that enables AI to discover, understand, and interact with the world’s information. At the center of this work is WebIQ, which connects AI systems with fresh, relevant information beyond what is contained in their models. With access to the right information at the right time, AI can deliver better answers and accomplish increasingly complex tasks more efficiently.

The information AI needs extends across a broad and evolving landscape. It includes the open web as well as specialized sources, experiences, and capabilities spanning a variety of domains. Bringing these together creates new opportunities to improve how AI understands information, responds to users, and takes action.

Microsoft is uniquely positioned to help shape this space, with deep expertise, technology, and data distributed across teams and a broader ecosystem of partners. Realizing that potential requires strong product leadership that can connect opportunities across organizational and technical boundaries and translate them into experiences that deliver meaningful customer value.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to help define and drive the next phase of this work. You will operate across a highly cross-functional environment, partnering with product, engineering, and business leaders to identify opportunities, shape product direction, establish platform-level product requirements, and help bring complex capabilities to market. The nature of the work will vary by opportunity, requiring the ability to lead directly in some areas while influencing, connecting, and enabling the work of others in others.

This role is ideal for a product leader who thrives in ambiguity and can move fluidly between strategy and execution. You will bring strong product judgment, technical depth, business acumen, and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries to help shape what AI can discover, understand, and accomplish next.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

AI Experiences employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft Hub in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

  • Help shape business and go-to-market considerations for new vertical capabilities, including customer segmentation, adoption, packaging, and measurement.

  • Establish success metrics and feedback loops to understand customer adoption, product quality, ecosystem health, and business impact.

  • Drive clarity on ownership, dependencies, and decisions across multiple organizations contributing to a common customer experience.

  • Communicate strategy, progress, opportunities, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leaders and stakeholders across Microsoft.
