As a Principal Product Manager on the Copilot & Agent Platform PM team, you will define and drive product strategy for our agent runtime, orchestration, and extensibility platform while fostering a culture of experimentation, inclusion, and excellence. Working at the intersection of large language models, developer tooling, and platform engineering, you will operate in a fast-paced, highly technical environment where agility, clarity, and bold thinking are essential. You will translate customer and partner needs into scalable product strategy and set an example for AI-forward product leadership by balancing strategic vision with hands-on execution, and long-term thinking with rapid iteration.

This opportunity will allow you to grow as a product leader while working on platform capabilities that shape the future of M365 Copilot and agent experiences. You will gain hands-on experience shaping the architecture of agentic AI systems at a scale which few teams in the industry can offer. You will deepen your technical product acumen and strengthen your ability to drive clarity across complex cross-functional initiatives. 

This position is based in Redmond, Washington and requires the employee be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Influence stakeholders across the organization to drive business impact, define success criteria for multiple feature areas, and identify long-term investment opportunities with partner support.

  • Define feature sets, lead senior-level customer usability reviews, own roadmaps across divisions, and partner with teams to build configurations and guide scenario walkthroughs.

  • Shape the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Copilot & Agent Platform, aligning priorities with customer needs and product goals.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, data science, and partner teams to deliver high-quality platform capabilities that help developers build, deploy, and scale AI-powered agents.

  • Identify opportunities to expand platform reach, establish success metrics, and use data-driven insights to prioritize investments and measure outcomes.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market (e.g., design, addressing product market fit, and launch, internal tool/framework).
  • 6+ years experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market (e.g., growing customer base, expanding customer usage, avoiding customer churn).
  • 6+ years experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience (e.g., competitive disruption, taking the place of an established competing product).
  • Experience delivering complex, cross-functional platform products with measurable impact.
  • Product judgment, technical fluency, executive presence, and communication and storytelling skills.
  • Experience building developer platforms or infrastructure at scale.
  • Background in applied AI, data science, or systems engineering.
  • Understanding and experience with AI/ML systems, including orchestration, evaluation, and safety.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
