Overview

The Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the user interface (UI) architecture that powers our Finance and Operations products. Our applications support millions of high-value users who rely on Dynamics 365 every day to run critical business processes. The F&O UI layer is a foundational platform behind these experiences, and this role will have broad impact across the product.

In this role, you will shape the end-to-end technical direction of the F&O UI layer, working across engineering, design, and product management to deliver modern, secure, reliable, performant, and accessible experiences for our customers. You will have an opportunity to influence experiences used broadly across Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations while helping evolve the architecture for the next generation of AI-enabled business applications.

This is a highly collaborative architecture and engineering role. You will set technical direction, prototype new concepts, mentor engineers, and work across teams to turn product and design direction into scalable platform capabilities. You will also help define the technical direction for emerging experiences, including MCP Apps and other agent-powered application experiences.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. • Lead the design of secure, compliant, reliable, performant, scalable, and accessible UI architecture, considering requirements and dependencies across the end-to-end product stack.

  • Partner closely with engineering, product management, and design teams to translate customer and product requirements into cohesive technical designs and deliver high-quality user experiences.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, prototype new UI and interaction concepts, and establish technical direction for areas including MCP Apps and AI-enabled application experiences.

  • Lead technical discussions and design reviews across teams, identify dependencies and architectural risks, and drive alignment on solutions and delivery.

  • Mentor engineers, establish engineering best practices, and help teams build maintainable, testable, secure, and high-quality software.
