Business Group Overview

CoreAI is creating the next era of computing, and that work runs on Azure capacity that has to stay ahead of the frontier. The most ambitious technical products in the world are built by small groups of exceptional people operating at peak clarity and pace, on a team defined not by titles but by capability, judgment, and the will to build. As a Principal Technical Program Manager in our Foundry Agent Platform organization, you will sit at the center of how we plan, secure, and execute the Azure capacity that powers Microsoft's AI platform.

Job Purpose Overview

You will own the execution strategy for Azure capacity management across Foundry Agent Platform, turning demand signals into forecasts, plans, and firm commitments while keeping engineering, product, and infrastructure leaders aligned on timelines and tradeoffs. This role is where clarity gets created: you will define what success looks like, drive delivery across teams, and build deep technical and business judgment in one of the fastest-moving areas of the company. You will also have flexible work options, including the ability to work from home up to half of the week, to support how you do your best work.

Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, and we're dedicated to this mission across every aspect of our company. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. Join us and help shape the future of the world.

  • Identify risks and dependencies early, propose data-driven mitigations, and course-correct without waiting, standardizing best practices for risk, governance, and release across teams.

  • Partner directly with engineering leaders and the CVP organization to inform capacity and investment decisions, and to keep the organization aligned on metrics and release planning.

  • Establish the operating rhythms, dashboards, and reporting that create clarity and measurable, cross-team impact at scale.

  • Mentor senior TPMs and act as a multiplier for product and engineering leadership, shaping the execution culture of the organization.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
